  Actually some were responding to the thread that Semonian was lying. I did not see any lies, especially not any LIES LIES LIES.

  If certain elders treated rape or molestation victims in a less than ethical manner, the Society's language in certain articles or poor directions from GB-appointed circuit overseers could be partly responsible.

  But the fact is: accusation of rape or child molestation is perhaps the worst allegation that could be made against somebody, especially if that person is a professed Christian and otherwise seemingly upstanding in conduct and behavior. Asking for proof of the allegation including even the most intimate circumstances of the situation is not at all beyond the realms of good taste. Have elders taken that too far? Yes, I'm sure they have. Have elders made wrong decisions? Yes, I'm sure they have.

  Put yourself in their shoes, though. And remember that when these events occurred all those involved were JWs. A long time ago I told myself I would never be an elder because the responsibility they have to shoulder and the decisions they have to make must be overwhelming at times.

  I would not characterize Semonian's comments as LIES LIES LIES. He didn't answer the questions with the greatest straightforwardness, but why should he?

  Q: "What is disfellowshipping?"

  A: "It is when three sex-crazed power-hungry men corner an innocent little JW girl in a backroom and make her tell them everything about her sex life and then pronounce her as evil, wicked and satanic and force all her friends to HATE HER WITH A COMPLETE HATRED."

  If you read the comments by some on this board, that is what they'd have Semonian answer.

  The fact is, every group or organization or association has certain rules to follow. If you don't follow the rules, the group will want to know why you aren't doing so. JWs only automatically DA people for a few things. Most of them time the judicial councils meet in an attempt to NOT HAVE TO DF.

  There is no question that a lot of JW thinking and practice ought to be reformed. But Semonian's comments were not significantly misdirecting his audience.

  repeatedly, the scriptures admonish jehovahs people to stay in wakeful anticipation of gods judgments.

  the not so obvious reason being that we don't know exactly how jehovah's judgments are going to go down.

  however, the ordering of events once the judgment commences should not be in question.

  I think it's great how YK seizes upon every significant issue raised by apostates to validate his perception of the Witnesses' future in relation to Bible prophecy.

  I have been watching this happen for 5 years now. I don't think I'll ever tire of it, even if my participation in these threads is almost nil.

  One thing that still really fascinates me about JWism is they belief that events in the future all will come to pass because of the will of JEHOVAH and that it is JEHOVAH who manipulates everything and everyone and JEHOVAH will judge the nations and JESUS and the ANGELS will separate the sheep and goats and the ELDERS will follow through on JEHOVAH's judgments and directions. That is so great. It is way more exciting and compelling than listening to Rush Limbaugh complain about Congress.

  i received a call from the baltimore sun today three jw victims came forward and they are doing a story.

  evansville tv news crew doing a story today on jw molestation because a victim came forward.

  more articles coming out in the tennessean due to more victims coming forward.

  i just got bounced from the jw chat room on paltalk for discussing the pedophile issue.

  it seems that the jws can only talk about this problem occurring in other churches (they were talking about the catholic's scandal) but when their religious organization is involved...watch out!.

  I got bounced so many times from the JW room paltalk will not let me set up my own rooms. So I wrote them a nasty email and uninstalled their crappy pop-up-ad software.

  Next time you're there tell ThatAhBoy, Dent, and Paticakes that I said hello.

  may 15th watchtower 2002-i see where they say god has a body!!!!

  as well as a spirit-didnt i learn as a jw he was only spirit no body-.

  i guess the "body snatchers" must have returned the body--or do we have new light here??

  I am ashamed at you people. This is basic JW stuff.

  JWs teach that God has a body of "spirit." Jesus was raised bodily -- in spirit. The 144,000 also receive such bodies of "spirit." Such bodies are incorruptible, immortal, and cannot be destroyed. One WT I read says that even Jehovah cannot destroy them as they have "life within themselves." Another says that they are dependent only upon Jehovah for their lives. Either way, the official JW teaching is that Jesus and then 144,000 become "sharers in the divine nature" (somewhere in one of Peter's letters) and are gods in their own right. And they do inhabit "bodies."

  Read the chapters devoted to this subject in Greg Stafford's "JWs Defended" for a fuller explanation.

  Bill Bowen's Use of "Fake Precision"

  the fake precision fallacy involves making a claim with a mathematical precision that is impossible to obtain.. he does this on his site where he starts with an alleged and unsupported figure that the watchtower has a file of some 23,000 child molesters and runs that figure up to the point where it becomes absolutely absurd.

  his purpose is to persuade readers that jehovah's witnesses are a hot bed of child molestation.

  the problem is that he starts with at best very dubious sources and then he takes this data and treats it as if it is precise and factual.. it is not unusual for many of us to use a frivolous "false precision" in making statements.

  When you first started posting here you made a lot of sense and I respected your viewpoint. Now you come across as a raving maniac. It is difficult to take you seriously any longer.

  The dude who started this thread has a very good point. Bowen should forget about trying to make "Watchtower" look bad and instead focus on the real problem.
