  i have not yet to find another organization in the world that is like jw.

  yes it has made mistakes, there imperfect humans, but what other organization in the world goes preaching house to house like jesus did.

  why is that jw are persecuted all over the world?

  And you won't find one either, even if you spend the next 50 years searching for it! The world doesn't deserve another org like the jws, one is more than enough.

  ...they have made mistakes

  You are so right there toer - 1975 springs to mind, as does 607 BCE, the 1914 generation doctrine, the blood issue, and many more. But whilst they have made mistakes, name one that they have admitted to. Whenever they have to change anything, it's down to new light. When a prediction goes wrong, it's the brothers fault for assuming too much. If the governing body ever come out just once and admit they got something wrong, I might soften my attitude a little, but it just aint gonna happen.

  as some of you know, my young daughter was taken into hospital on monday night with severe breathing difficulties.

  i have just got back from seeing her, and am happy to say that it was nothing serious, just a chest infection, and she is fine.

  my friend linda posted about this, and many of you replied.

  I work for British Telecom, in the BT Retail section

  I love photography, listening to music, reading and writing poetry, and have had several poems published

  I occasionally gp to the pub, and am a Real Ale drinker

  I am divorced with a son from my marriage, and a daughter from a recent relationship

  That's about it, or all I can think of for now anyway.

  well a cake actually - a christmas cake!.

  this is the second year i've made one since leaving the borg and it's one of the main things i missed during the dark years when i pretended that christmas was humbug and i never really liked it anyway!.

  I didn't quit because of doctrine, it was the bad attitude of the elders that got rid of me, but I examined the doctrines after I left, saw through the bullshit, and realised it wasn't the truth or anything even resembling it. That made me resolve never to set foot in another kh, and I haven't done in almost 6 years.

  do you realize that now elders are forced to "set the example" and do menial tasks like mow the lawn, clean the bathrooms and "handle the mikes".

  I haven't been to the kh for a long time either, and I'm not even slightly tempted to go, but Linda tells me that there have been some very surprising ms and elder appointments in the last few years, and elders are having to do some of the more menial tasks nowadays. Knowing some of them from my time in the wts, they would find that somewhat demeaning. Serves the arrogant b**t***s right!

  Showing Self Control

  we spent some time at the in-laws this past weekend (they are very serious jws) and i literally became sick to my stomach.. how does those that are fading handle the visits with family or in-laws that are still jw?

  how do you contain the constant need to blow up and answer everything they are spewing??.

  btw, sunday came around, and we went to breakfast in the morning.missed the meeting without a hint of regret.

  I wish I'd never joined the wts, but one thing I am thankful for is that I have no family in there. I can't imagine what it must be like seeing still - believing family when you;ve seen through the bs. I feel for anyone in that situation, but I sure don't envy them

  Why is it that when leaves fall......

  i have a neighbour that has many trees with lots of leaves on them.

  when the leaves are all fallen on his lot, the wind shoots them on my side, and it whilwinds and stays here.. so, every year, i'm stuck to pick up the leaves of those who didn't pick them up on their lot and comes here and stays here, no matter how strong the wind is.

  just a few days ago, i raked the whole lot and there wasn't one leaf left.

  Abusers or abusive?

  many are the accounts we read of abuse suffered at the hands of jws.

  we only have to read the personal experiences forum to realise that, with the experiences of emotional and mental abuse, the bullying by elders, and so on... still, it begs the question, are the perpetrators abusers or an abusive organisation?

  I think all of those terms could correctly be applied to the wts. They are indded an abusive organisation
