  i finally got around to getting the box sent off.

  i've had it sitting here for about a week.. are we going to wait to open until christmas or do we get to rip open our gift with sheer abandonment when it arrives in the mail?.

  Would I really want to be in the "new world" anyway...

  this morning in the shower i was thinking about why it is that jw's preaching (like i used to do) about a paradise with no wickedness really bothers me.

  if jw's are right and god is going to destroy the majority of people so that just those who happened to live at the right time, in the right place, etc.

  can live forever with a couple of men telling me, a woman what to do, no thanks.

  One upsmanship...

  when i was a regular attender, most of my jw "friends" were pioneers because that is who we spent our days with, lol.

  well, it always annoyed the crap out of me when the pioneers would act like they were so special when they were able to get a new publication prior to its arrival at the local kh.

  they were basically bragging about their connections.

  In memory of...

  i was reviewing some ex-scientology sites and on one site they have a "morgue.

  " in it, they give the names of all the people who have died due to scientology.

  it made me think that it would be neat if we could set up a "in memorium" board for all those who have lost their life due to jws screwed up policies - blood, organ failure, suicide, etc.

  Anyone ever read "Young Goodman Brown?"

  in my college english comp class i just wrote up a short reaction to the story "young goodman brown".

  it amazed me because i could completely relate to what he faced in the story.

  it really applies to any jw who has the courage to face the reality of what the religion values.

  Is anyone watching PrimeTime?...

  the story of the woman who escaped from her polygamist husband.

  the way that community treats her and hides from the media reminds me of how jws respond to dfed and the media.

  it is very hard to watch because i can easily replace a couple words and see a jw man or woman defending their lifestyle.
