I'm done with this topic-- let some other guy, like Minimus, expound upon the secrets of, "how to pick up a woman and get to first base with her"

I lived in a major city back then- that does make it harder. Lots of players. There are so many people in the dating pool, it is easy to think someone more compatible will show up next weekend.- You live in the UK?- what is dating like there?- I hear that people won't even move 20 miles to a new city for a job in the UK ( maybe 2009-2010 recession changed that)-- they want to stay in their neighborhood.

The problems in dating are very often due to the woman's future expectations-
5th date, the guy says, " I don't want to get married right now"- Ok, fair enough, does the lady truthfully reveal, "well, I'm looking to get married ASAP and if you want to sleep with me, I need to see an engagement ring first"- nope, she won't do that, she is crafty. He is a blue dog Democrat who worked the phone banks with her , he drives a nice BMW, has an MBA, works on WallStreet (investment banking), owns his apt in a good neighborhood, NMNK (never married/no kids)-"Well,she thinks (analyzing) I can invest six months, it's better than no dates and the sex was good". Six months turns into a year. He is still avoiding the jewelry store- I've invested a year, I can't throw that away- surely six more months will get him in the mood ( sunk cost fallacy)- Finally, after 18 months of dating the big showdown arrives and she breaks it off. He still says, "I don't want to get, married right now" - He goes back into circulation and a few months later he starts dating another woman he met out jogging- He asks her to marry him six weeks later- he found the woman he can't live without- his forever love.

BOTR-I would run like hell from you if you made your views public. Run. Flee. Panic. Get away.
My views and "Don Juan" experiences" ( wasblind, you made a good funny) are very tame compared to this fellow- Last time I checked he had plenty of women wanting his attentions- maybe clothes do make the man- the satin pajamas and velour robe must drive women wild.

I was watched the entire Viking series on the History channel- it struck me how women had a different shopping list for a man/protector back then. I still believe women are wired for finding a protector- they just look elsewhere$$ for his ability to provide, not how he swings his sword.

BOTR- sour grapes from you, again? why not share with us how successful you are in the dating/man game? Where is the picture of your happy family? You fancy yourself a great lawyer- perhaps you analyze men until you do discover their hidden faults- it's there someplace, I know he is hiding something-- I'll catch him in a contradiction--
d- like I said-- laywer women are bad news, avoid them.

ask if you can buy her a drink. If she accepts, then you can assume she is at least somewhat interested.
20 years ago I was sitting at the bar and chatting with a middle age lady who sat down next to me-- after a few drinks(she paid for) she shared this with me- , newly divorced and back in the game after 20 years of marriage-- "I don't understand today's men" me- really, what's different today? 'well, back when I was last single (remember 20 years ago) I never had to buy a drink, guys always bought me drinks all night long. Men are, well, cheapskates today" Moshe-- why don't you ask that cute little 22 year old girl on the other side of the bar how many drinks she has had to pay for tonight and that might help you understand what has changed"
My, true words aren't kind, was not well received- she took her beer and moved to a new seat- Oh well, she was a size 14+ , not my type.

A guy who is 20-25 is seldom looking for wife material- However, if d was looking for wife material, I need to PM him with a different set of instructions-
(cougars are out)

All women are not gold diggers, sheesh, I had to give my ex half my 401k.
- any woman that had to give up 1/2 of a 401K in a divorce is for certain, pissed off. - you have my condolences.- you can make it up in the next marriage.

My wife got her Mother's day present a day early- our daughter decorated the cake herself in 8th grade home-economics class-- She has been a fulltime stay at home mother since we brought our daughter home. She has a masters degree in education, but we both agreed our daughter needed the security of a full time parent. Her company was downsizing and she applied for the buyout package and , other than substitute teaching at our daughter's school, she is a homemaker. At an age when most people should be kicking back in retirement- we are fully employed as fulltime parents of a teenager. We are a happy family, not bitter- so take your put-downs and be-gone- (please excuse my off topic rant)
