JoinedBorn into JW's. Baptised day before my 14th birthday. Father an elder. Couldn't wait to marry a nice spiritual man with theocratic goals. Married someone different to that and together we found our way out to the light. It has been 5 years since we left the cult and we have been married for almost 9 years and have two children Jerry, 7 and Megan, 5. We are proud of the fact that we are still together as we had many marriage problems whilst in the dubs, mostly me screaming at him to get ready for the meeting or vice versa. We are now best friends, lovers, etc and have a wonderful life free of mind control. I love that I have my own beliefs, but I don't know that they're right and so respect everyones point of view. Weren't we judgemental as dubs?! Lots more drama than I can ever put into words here, so feel free to ask any time. Thanks so much to the authors of this site.
