  Very possible. Not heard anything about that.

  I had heard there was a specific programme to relocate Ukrainian JW refugees in Norway and possibly other Nordic countries, but that was in the early days.

  The mainstream news about Ukrainian refugees in general in the UK has turned in recent weeks to the fact that UK government support is running out and some UK residents are losing enthusiasm for hosting Ukrainians.

  I think this is incredibly cynical: having goaded Ukraine into war with Russia, the depth of commitment to taking care of Ukrainian refugees seems to be pretty shallow. It’s almost as if war and weapon sales are more important to western powers than democracy or humanitarian considerations.

  The news is indeed bizarre these days on its face. On the one hand the G7 is praised for ganging up in an apparent failed attempt to rig the price of Russian gas, on the other hand Russia is accused of ‘economic warfare’ when it refuses to supply gas on terms disadvantageous to itself. It’s almost as if Russia isn’t the only power engaging in propaganda.

  Diogenesister he is a master manipulator and some his remaining patrons are apparently susceptible. (Cognitive dissonance?) There are probably some others who signed up ages ago and are not aware of what’s been happening. To have lost half of his paying supporters in less than a year is about as dramatic a collapse in support as it gets. There is another YouTuber boogie2988 who started out as a sympathetic character but ended up boasting about doing similar things to LE. In his case it took a few years for him to lose most of his patrons, a very long process.

  I know LE acts as if he’s the “biggest megaphone” but the statistics just don’t bear this out. There are at least 4 other xJW YouTube channels that reach a bigger audience than he does in terms of views, and a number of others that are a similar size. So where does the idea come from that he isn’t a minor player or isn’t dispensable?

  His presentation of statistics is more selective than a Jan WT Study Article!
  As I pointed out on page 500, there are at least 4 other xJW channels that get more views for similar content (in this case rebuttals to Stephen Lett’s ‘enemy baby’ remarks). There are probably others I overlooked.
  His small increase in subs is probably a function of the sheer volume of videos that he ‘churns out’, to use his description. It would be interesting to compare with other channels. I guess they attract more than a few hundred new subs each month.
  His stats probably mainly went up in August because people tuned in to see what was happening at the convention.
  During that whole period his Patreon numbers slumped by nearly 50%, a figure he probably won’t trumpet any time soon.

  It is difficult to follow, because it’s so stupid, but his argument really is as stupid as it appears. He really is claiming that there is a difference between going to Thailand AND using prostitutes, and going to Thailand TO visit prostitutes, and that anyone who confuses those two completely different things is displaying racism. He first tried to fly that harebrained idea on Andrew Gold’s podcast, and was met with complete incomprehension, but he seems determined to stick with it.

  Meanwhile his patron number has reached a new low of 453. 🎉

  It’s probably good to remember how small a participant LE is now even in his own arena of YouTube. One month ago various YouTubers responded to Stephen Lett’s comments on babies being “little enemies of God”. As far as I can make out these are the most popular response videos in descending order.

  I may have missed some but even in the niche of xJW YouTubers he’s a very small player. What he has managed to do is convince patrons to send him money every month especially since the start of the pandemic. That’s what’s keeping him going, not the quality or popularity of his videos.

  He probably wouldn’t have picked on the litterer if it was a well built guy his own size. As with his online bullying – he avoids accusing Dr Sohom Das and Andrew Gold of libel even though they called him a psychopath and a cult leader on their platforms. He prefers what he (mistakenly) regards as weaker targets - smaller xJW channels.
