In Broken Images
He is quick, thinking in clear images;
I am slow, thinking in broken images.He becomes dull, trusting to his clear images;
I become sharp, mistrusting my broken images,Trusting his images, he assumes their relevance;
Mistrusting my images, I question their relevance.Assuming their relevance, he assumes the fact,
Questioning their relevance, I question the fact.When the fact fails him, he questions his senses;
When the fact fails me, I approve my senses.He continues quick and dull in his clear images;
I continue slow and sharp in my broken images.He in a new confusion of his understanding;
I in a new understanding of my confusion.Robert Graves

WHY Doesn't The WTS Observe The Resurrection?
by Sunspot ini never got a real answer about this when i was a jw.
the only explanation that i ever got was that jesus said to "do this in remembrance of me" meaning the taking in of the wine and unleavened bread.
he never said "not" to observe his birth or his resurrection.

Because Jesus never told them to (this one is too easy - apostates can do better)

Am I right about the WT being wrong?
by FreedomFrog inhi everyone.... i was "raised" as a dub and got baptised in '86...so in total i had been a jw for over 20 years.
i came to realize that the "way of life" i was living was in fact made up of mostly lies.
i started "questioning" the borg about 6 years ago and finally came out with almostatheist last sept. i know in my heart that they are mostly wrong and very legalist.

I think it is just as hard to prove who is wrong as it is to prove who is right.
Why can't we all just say that we don't know whether the Witnesses have the truth or not? (now that is the "truth"!)
Why do apostates need to be so definite?
Why do they have to provide theories and constructs to explain away their former associates' beliefs in Jehovah's Witness fashion?
You are all decending into the depths of Witness essentialism!!!

I have no definition of the truth.

You have got it the wrong way round. Apostates are the ones who claim they know who is "wrong". They don't agree on who is right, but they agree on who is wrong.

All this talk about categories and so on. It is quite simple what I think:
Jehovah's Witnesses are people who think Jehovah's Witnesses have the truth.
Apostates are people who think that Jehovah's Witnesses do not have the truth.
I am a person who does not know whether Jehovah's Witnesses have the truth.
Why is there no place on this forum for such a view?
Have you ever considered that Jehovah's Witness may be neither right nor wrong? May have, and not have the truth?
I suggest that it is apostates, not I, who are ascribing all-encompassing categories to reality in Jehovah's Witness fashion.

Making the truth your own!!!
by Gill inwhat is this awesome cultish phrase meant to signify?.
'make the truth your own!'.
i ask this because it has always 'irritated' me when people talk about jw children : 'he's made the truth his own now!'.

That happiness spreads all around....
Make the truth your own, to bad ways do not be prone,
As your body members you control...
