  Disillusioned JW - The Commentary on the Book of James is in the library. The nearest thing to censorship around it was parts of it being rewritten before its publication at the insistence of Fred Franz, as documented by Raymond Franz. (He includes pictures of the redrafts) The information from Raymond Franz is very interesting in terms of what changes were made, but I don’t know if it was particularly unusual for drafts to be rejected and rewritten. Raymond Franz thought it was noteworthy, but he was only at the headquarters for around 15 years. Frederick Franz was editor in chief of Watchtower publications for more than half a century.

  Edit: I just checked the James book isn’t in the online library though was on the CD ROM, don’t know why.

  vienne it’s a bit graceless not to even acknowledge responses from me or Jeffro. I know it’s not pleasant to be wrong, but I hope when others point out a mistake I make that I will be thankful to them for correcting a wrong idea I had, and have the respect and the self confidence to express it.

  It certainly looks like the intention is not to say anything about it. Even if they were inclined to say something, their cautious nature might inhibit them from naming AMIII in any comments in case it provides scope for litigation. The closest we might come are generalised segments relating to particular sins or about coping with disappointment when appointment men let the congregation down.

  To find out what happened we really need leaks from people in the know or from AMIII himself. It is possible that very few people actually know the details, such as his close family and the GB members, which I guess might explain why it’s taking so long to come out.

  The Aid articles on “chronology” and “overseers” were retained in the Insight volumes. Anyone can check for themselves that they are not “omitted” (your first claim) and that minor revisions were common in the Insight books compared with the Aid book.

  People who know about the history of the Raymond Franz and the Watchtower know that the remarkable thing is that Watchtower continued to rely on the material Raymond Franz wrote to support Watchtower chronology even after he himself no longer believed it. It is because this fact is so well known that multiple readers of this thread picked you up on your inaccuracy.

  You all are being far too generous being drawn down this ludicrous ‘good outweighs the bad’ argument nonsense. His videos are crap and they always have been. They were only ever worth watching for leaked material or interesting guests. Even when he had interesting guests he ruined it because he dominated the conversation himself. He’s got over 100,000 so called subscribers but barely 5000 can be bothered to watch the average video. As Kim and others point out, he practically had an official policy of not personally helping anyone who reached out to him because he ‘valued his time’ too much to be bothered.

  Any normal person could carve out a very comfortable life for him and his family at 399 patrons plus the other income streams. But he’s not a normal person. He thinks he’s entitled to many holidays and sex workers and collectible Star Trek figures and to employ other people to do the actual work for him. He’s going ride this gravy train all the way to the bottom one way or another.

  Ukraine and Russia wanted a peace deal back in April 2022. Boris Johnson, at the behest of the US, travelled to Ukraine to make sure the peace deal didn’t go ahead. Western arms manufacturers and their lobbyists are making an absolute fortune from this war just as their last grift in Afghanistan had come to an end. These are just facts. The are clearly prepared to ride this out to the last Ukrainian. As someone else said on this thread, apparently without any irony, they think it’s “cheap at the price”.

  I have to admit I was getting worried about the arms industry and all the elites who make their money from arms industry lobbying when the US pulled out of Afghanistan in 2021. How were they going to manage now that their steady revenue from the Afghan forever-war had finally come to an end? Thank heaven for this new business opportunity that opened up just in time or else the poor dears would have been really out of pocket.

  He was a medic. He certainly saw badly injured people and has said so. He also talks as if it affected him badly (his talk about the human hot dogs is not normal). I don’t see any reason so doubt his trauma. Just because some people keep silent about trauma doesn’t mean everyone has to react the same way.
