I have not seen the slightest suggestion that they are toning down their LGBT stance. I’d be surprised if it’s true.
I mean, I do expect they will have to change position in the long run (anti gay attitudes look set to become as stigmatised as racism) but I thought they would drag it out a bit longer. I expect the Mormon church to jump first, since they are more invested in being accepted by mainstream culture than JWs.

Even if the other GB members found him difficult to work with, as I can well imagine, they must surely have weighed this against the potential reputation damage, not just for the current GB, but for the concept of the GB as “faithful slave” itself. So presumably it would have taken more than awkwardness or low level disagreements, to provoke the move, because they wouldn’t have taken the decision lightly.
It also means the first few sessions of the two new GB members probably dealt with this issue. I wonder if they had any idea what they were heading into when they were appointed.

Is it true that you can’t get a JW divorce for “not traditional” sex as the message puts it? This seems a very specific detail but does make some sense in terms of him having leverage over her not to leave him, if that’s how it works.
I read earlier in the thread that her parents convinced her to stay with him because they didn’t approve of divorce in the circumstances. How totally tragic, if true, and they must sorely regret it.

Where was the rumour that he got drunk and was hitting on his daughter in law? Might be something a drunk person would do. On the other hand also sounds like a made up story. If there is any truth to it at all can you imagine the family strife it would cause. The son would presumably be furious; at the same time AMIII would never forgive his family for reporting it losing his GB spot - recriminations all round.
I like the idea of a book deal. He could probably get a good advance on that. Would he be tempted if the price was right?

Yes Vintage he’s perhaps conflating two different journeys to Croatia in order to create a false impression.
Btw I wasn’t suggesting that Dijana was in control of the money, but that she may be in control of the accounting and reporting. It’s conceivable that LE could contrive to get her to do all the complicated and boring accountancy while also controlling the actual funds himself. Not straightforward, but conceivable for somebody who is both lazy and controlling at the same time.

That Marko stuff I thought was crazy at the time, but if it was a fake it was a remarkably prescient one in light of later disclosures about his personality. Who knows? Reserve judgement until there’s good evidence.
I’ve mentioned before that, much as I disliked LE from years back, I still would have had a difficult time believing the things Kim disclosed were it not for his own livestream confirming it all. If he had just lied and denied the whole thing from the start he could probably have gotten away with it with little to zero consequences. He would definitely be well over 1000 patrons by now, no doubt about it. His livestream was the hugest own goal of his whole grifting career.
As regards his tax figures. I’ve got to wonder to what extent they are any fair reflection of reality anyway. He doesn’t exactly strike me as somebody who sticks to the rules, and clearly thinks he can get away with most things, so why would he stick closely to the rules in this situation? On the other hand, if he leaves the financial side of it completely to his wife, which would be in character in terms of laziness, then she being a very cautious and risk averse person as she evidently is, then perhaps it is a fair reflection of the financial situation.

My initial response was one of anger. In a flurry of tears and screaming I tried to wrench the phone from Dijana. Then, as reality slowly dawned, I realized she had every right to know that the man she had married and made so many sacrifices for was a messed up person with serious issues.
It seems in character that he would be abusive in a situation like this and he is trying to minimise it (fewer “tears” and more “screaming” in reality) by appearing “reflective” about it. What a nightmare of a person to be around. When he does wrong it’s you who is at fault - the exact same manoeuvre he has attempted over the past year on anyone who has objected to his behaviour. The fact that he downplays his abuse (fake tears and all) does indicate that he is aware of how it would look from an outsider perspective. So he’s probably fully aware of what he’s doing over the past year too.

I wonder what other people think, but I’d rather say sexuality is (and gender) an important part of who we are, it doesn’t encompass everything about us, as the statement would seem to imply. Maybe he’s giving a bit of himself away there also by focussing on sexuality rather than gender, in that comment, and in the interview as a whole.
I find the whole topic very confusing to begin with because I personally have never had any inner conflict about either gender or sexuality, so it is difficult for me to relate to or understand the issue. I can see that for some people it clearly is an issue and can be a source of a lot of suffering. I don’t know what the answers are because it’s very complicated, but I don’t think LE is going to crack that nut, or given his history that his intervention is going to be anything other than disruptive and/or damaging.
