I think they do remove announcement after a period. For example, I donât think the announcement about the new GB members, Fleegle and Winder is still up, is it? In this case itâs just a bit odd they removed it so quickly. Who knows whatâs going on!

There was a suggestion earlier in the discussion that there was a back and forth, hint of disagreement between Morris and Lett in a recent broadcast (was it from the annual meeting?). Iâd like to hear more about that, or a link to the videos. Can anyone point us there? In the absence of anything else, it might provide some clue about why Morris is no longer on the GB.
Personally I think the possibility of alcoholism and associated anti-social behaviour may be behind his removal. Because even on camera he shows some signs of lack of control in what he says and how he says it. He also shows some indications of trauma from his time in Vietnam that would be consistent with alcohol addiction or dependence. I can easily imagine that he would be a difficult person to deal with in meetings. If that was partly fuelled by alcohol then that would give the other GB members justification for warning and then removing him. I acknowledge this is speculation and I donât claim otherwise, just that itâs a plausible explanation that fits with what we know about Morris.

Two weeks on and still no real information on what happened. Strange!
this book was published around 1990, but was never studied (to my knowledge).
does anyone know the reason why?.
I donât think it was studied at the book study either. Parts of it were used in service meeting items which may explain why some copies have underlining and notes.
If the book was used at Gilead and used as evidence of a balanced religious education that makes sense. It was also part of the move away from the more belligerent engagements with other religions to a more ârespectfulâ disagreement.
In my memory some JWs were proud of the book and liked to use it in the ministry or to place in libraries or use with school teachers and so on because it has a more pleasant tone as well as a good layout and design. It was one of the last books to be published while they were still charging for the literature, so it was a quality haptic hardcover.
kingdom halls will be the thing of the past.. conventions (mini assembly halls will still be going on) but will charge for attending and parking and always a donation.
elders will play a much smaller role since csa.
cart preaching will replace door to door.
I am sorry to tell you Phizzy, but I know many churches that have declined far more than JWs and have never reached a point of saying âcan this be the right religionâ, or âis it worth itâ, and âtime to throw in the towelâ. Well on an individual level I am sure some members do think that - and thatâs part of the reason for the decline! But it never seems to reach a tipping point where there is a collective reckoning as such.
Churches that have experienced severe decline in recent years where I have some direct knowledge include Methodists, Church of Scotland, Mormons, Christadelphians, Unitarians, Baptists, Brethren, Swedenborgians, Christian Scientists, New Apostolic Church. Iâm probably forgetting some. Some of these churches have lost half their members, or more, over the past 20 years. Yet until there is literally no one left to physically turn the light on and off (this happened with the Swedenborgians who closed in Scotland with 4 members remianing, down from 800 in the 1950s) there simply doesnât seem to be a level of decline where a religious group will throw in the towel early. They just struggle on and readjust to the shrinking numbers as best they can until there is no one left.

I watched the start of the video, the first ten minutes, and he keeps on saying he either wonât lie to JWs at the Kingdom Hall about who he is, or that he doesnât want to lie about who he is. He canât quite make up his mind whether he intends to lie or not, but he wants his audience to know that he really doesnât like the idea of lying about who he is in any case.
But isnât this a bit odd. He has admitted to visiting sex workers behind his wifeâs back every couple months. This must have involved dozens, or hundreds of lies, week in, week out, to his wife, their family, and probably others, for years, about where he was going, and what he was doing. Why does he care so much about lying to strangers on one occasion when he is practised at lying repeatedly to his closest family about something more important?
Maybe thatâs stating the obvious to the point of redundancy, but it just grates for a known liar to pretend as if lying is of any consequence to them. He canât really mean any of it, I guess itâs all a performance for the channel.

LE is skilled at distinguishing people who are useful to him from people who are not useful, discarding those who are not useful, and doing enough to keep useful people on board. So as long as Tibor is useful he will be pleasant enough to him. Plus on the other side Tibor has demonstrated heâs willing to put up with a lot.
i was trying to think of some common jw words and phrases i don't think are in the bible .. new world order new system spiritual israel governing body channel of communication organization reporting time pioneer aux pioneer circuit overseer kingdom hall circuit assembly district convention....,maybe you can think of something to add if you are inclined..
