Covid is making a comeback. Going back to the Kingdom Hall is becoming more of a Hope, (like Armageddon)

if you have been keeping up with the news, many cities are seeing an uptick in covid cases.

mask mandates are being implemented in many cities.. many pimos are relating that their pimi parents and grandparents are scared to go back and are having a hard time following the elder's exhortation to attend the memorial, because it might be the last.. a lot of pimi's are saying; that it doesn't make logical sense for large groups of people to meet in a crowded building passing and touching emblems and wine glasses while covid is still around and vaccines have not prevented the death of many who still got the virus.

the elders keep reminding the sheeple that "we must obey,even if it doesn't make sense.".

They’ve chosen to go back to Kingdom Halls in the UK when cases are at the highest they have ever been in the pandemic. (Estimates are more than 1 in 15 are currently infected) Even with high vaccination rates there are currently significant numbers of deaths in the UK. If they had waited, even just a few weeks, it is likely that cases will go down significantly as summer approaches.

I heard there was an outbreak in a nearby congregation following the first Sunday back, with the majority of those in attendance now testing positive.

While they allow answers from those who remain on Zoom, they do seem to only allow talks to be given by those physically in the Kingdom Hall. So it is being made clear that those who remain on Zoom are not equal to those in the KH.

They should be demanding their money back. It was taken under false pretences. Isn’t there a thread with him somewhere demanding that someone else return money because (he claimed) they didn’t use it for stated the purpose? He’s long had a dual interest in taking money for himself and making sure nobody else raises funds.

It’s pretty clear he’s been treating people like fools from the start, only interested what he can get out of then.

If I remember right Marvin Shilmer gave him money at the start to support his “work”. But soon got wise to him. Is Marvin still around?

I watched your original interview with him from a couple of years ago, before it was taken down. I think it’s a good idea for people who now find the channel problematic to ask for their videos to be removed.

I found his interview with you to be very insensitive. One question in particular he asked you was intrusive and somewhat inappropriate, probably because he was thinking foremost of views and likes rather that you, the person he was interviewing.

I remember studying the Greatest Man book in the 1990s and when we read this passage everyone commented how cruel and heartless it was to cut the man off from his family, with no hint of irony, or to use a word that came up on another thread, introspection.

Mormons are more career/wealth/education driven than JWs. This has its drawbacks as well as its obvious upside, to the extent that a Mormon without a great career probably feels a failure in the church, whereas a JW without a great career can still feel good about themselves. In fact in some cases it might be a badge of honour for a JW to lack education and a career, which is obviously going to the other extreme.

Where did Christendom go? They HATED our bible in 1950...just read...

the articles on the jw-cd which only go back to 1950 where we fought back the attacks.

i do not understand why they did not continue to blast our bible since it is such a fraud....down south in usa churches teach members how to refute dubs at their door.....but why did they stop blasting the nwt?

it is sooooooo easy to show a dub there is a bunch of made up crap in it.....i may have to help my local chruches.....if you need more info about the horrible fraud parts, feel free to pm me.........................oompa......even elders dont know

Yes it’s the same verb, that’s why I pointed to this verse, which includes the relevant “exercising” rendering that WokenfromJWCult referred to.
Because the part of the rendering that WokenfromJWCult and others object to is the “exercising” part, not the “faith/trust” part, which you have missed.
Here is a defence of the NWT rendering “exercising faith” which addresses the point.

It looks like there is no other version that adds “exercising” to render this verb, otherwise Watchtower, or the independent apologist would have referred to it when defending the NWT. It may be an example of what narkissos described as New World overTranslation.

TD I can’t read Greek but I can read English. WokenfromJWCult objected to the translation “exercise faith” but what you have defended is a verse where the NWT has “having faith”. I suspect WokenfromJWCult had verses such as John 3:16 in mind.

For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. (NWT)

Other versions have “believes” in this verse. The Contemporary English Version has “has faith”, but it’s the “exercising” part of the NWT rendering that people tend to find peculiar, rather than the use of “faith” over “believe”. While Watchtower claims that “exercising” reflect the meaning of the Greek verb, I think the suspicion is that Watchtower favours the translation because of its emphasis on “works” over “faith alone”.

Is it normal to announce helpers’ names? I thought it was more of a concept than an official position.

Wasn’t the original point of “helpers” or “nethinim” so that non anointed brothers could sit in GB meetings and take part in running the organisation? If so, when did they start appointing anointed brothers as helpers?
