  Best Bible Translation?

  my wife has been a jw for about 10 years (we have been married 15 years).

  over the years i have tried various strategies to deal with this, which i won't go into here...except that i have agreed to "read the bible" with my wife...and i get to pick the translation.. what translation would be best recommended to help highlight the errors of the nwt and jw thinking in general?

  i have seen here that today's english version has been recommended...anything else?

  there are cases where living humans must be put to death for higher considerations, like vengeance or justice or whatever you want to call it.

  i put a security deposit on a nice split-level apartment in sunset park, brooklyn.. i'm getting ready to pack up and move by jan 3. it's nice!

  so i might be offline for some time now.. all have a wonderful, happy healthy new year 2005!!.

  robyn, laugh at me, no problem, but if you really think the things i said are funny, you are in need of serious help. i suggest talking to a professional psychologist. they are better in explaining that there's no such thing like "good vs. bad", and they have more patience and experience with people who are not able to start thinking balanced after leaving a cult.

  Dmac, you'd be surprised how many still worship Jehovah, but without the manmade rules enforced by the Watchtower. Read the bible without the Watchtower and see for yourself what it really is about.
  
  By the way, I'm not disfellowshipped and I go to the meetings regularly. I read the bible a lot, but I am agnostic. An agnostic Jehovah's Witness if you want.

  i see in the 1 january 2005 watchtower that it has a r surrounded by a circle indicating that watchtower is a registered trademark.. when did this happen?
