I'm not on the side of Jehovahs witnesses but I would at least like the hearing to be fair and just.

You bet it is. Have you not bothered to read how and why this was set up? Quit being so self centered to think that the Jehovah's Witnesses are being especially singled out for that so called persecution that they scream about. They are only one of many instuitutions under fire by the Royal Commission.

Educate yourself. The webpage is there with the information as to the "legality" of the Royal Commission and the powers granted it. The Commission has been set up under the order of the Queen of England. They have a well established legal system.

Intellectuals bullies? Lol! Well...if the shoe fits. Tell me why, please, that the experienced, intelligent and rational positioning of legal experts find it so easy to tear apart a bunch of guys who go by "First Century Christian law" instead of the democratic law that recognizes human abuses for what they are.

A fair fight? Not even close. The WTS is getting the shit kicked out of them and it is about time! They are being exposed for the incompetent and arrogant jerks that they are. I am going to cheer for every knock out punch they get. They have been beating up on children and women for far too long now.

Judical hearing? Yeah...how do they like it now??

The have been moving money out of countries in anticipation for this. Canada's money has always flowed freely downriver to the Tower. And now they have siphoned off the Australian money to the obereas/NY. Where, of course, they have a big building project to pay for.

All those translation offices? Scoop the money out of the palces where they have legal issues. Decrease their funds.

Another thing. The statement shows a $100 liability for each director. That is it. A $100 liability?? Is this a joke?

Personal story: I organized a public awareness campaign one summer (2006). I was doing street performances with groups of women to raise awareness about the Missing and Murdered Women in Canada. Three of my performances were held on city streets - I blocked the streets off for a space to perform. In one of the cities that we performed, I was required by city bylaws to carry 3 and a half million dollars in personal liability to be able to proceed. I didn't have a lot of money but i bought the insurnce policy I needed. $365.

And these guys only carry 100 f**ing dollars liability??? They are "shepherds" and they can't be bothered to insure themselves for some wrongdoing, even if it is accidental? I had no intention of anything bad happening when I took women out on the street to perform in a public palce. I carried the insurance. Because I cared about the people who would be involved, and I cared about those who were watching. I didn't want anybody to be hurt just because of me.

The best part of that 9 second pause is his little gasp for air - Bowditch looks like a goldfish wearing glasses. His mouth opens and closes and nothing comes out. He just sucks in a bit of air. I think Mr. Stewart took pity on him at that point and bailed him out - he might have been worried that Bowditch was about to have a stroke or pass out if he didn't give him a chance to breathe.

In that report, the WT Australia Branch is claiming that they had a loss last year of $1,703,164.

They also report that they spent $10,236,291 in "donations and overseas aid".

Something smells fishy...or is that a skunk walking by??

we all know the wt basis for disfellowshipping, (1 corinthians 5:9-13) 9 12 for what do i have to do with judging those outside?

do you not judge those inside, 13 while god judges those outside?

remove the wicked [man] from among yourselves.. if removing "the man" is a protection for the congregation and no police are called, what does it say about the witnesses view of the world?

evaluna: Now this horrid man, Bowditch, must be going out in service. Right? He has the recklessness to say he isn't going to protect non jw's, unless he knows them personally. But he is not protecting anyone one in his hall either. But inviting people he meets at the door and maybe that silly cart thing, to come to a safe place of worship.

Sorry...starting a new post cause I think my editing time might run out...

I just got to say this. Someone mentioned a while back about the movie potential of this event. I don't think a movie is necessary. For one, I can't think of how anyone could play the part of Bowditch better than he does already. The guy is a comedy act all on his own.

In fact, all of the WT little men are fine actors. Even the blonde bimbo is acting. It is all they can do - they are empty inside - they have no truth to tell. They have to act.

And the heroes of this fine exhibition of intellect and reason could never and should never be replaced. Mr. Stewart and Justice McClelland are superb human beings who deserve the limelight. An actor could never top their honesty, sincerity and presence.

This is kangaroo court up against a real court. Fantasy...meet reality. Boom!

You are so good at that - here is another one I would really love to have. I would watch it whenever i needed a laugh.

The part where Judge McClelland sticks it to Bowditch about what he had said to his wife to tell BCG. McClelland ends up making him say that his wife lied to him! Lol! it is so great - I have watched it three times already. McClelland is smiling and makes a complete fool out of Bowditch - "we are here to find out the truth, aren't we?" Lol! of course we are...the truth about the truth. heehee.

Okay...I apologize. but...pretty please...one more. The end of the longer clip where Justice McClelland hands the Watchtower lawyer his ass on a plate and makes him eat it. The WT lawyer literally is groveling. It is when the WT guy tries to enter photograph's of BCG's wedding into "evidence". What an idiot - McClelland is superb in that interchange!

Royal Commission....don't worry it will not go away...

i need to let you know that here in australia the royal commission is alive and well.

people are aware of it and whilst it may not be on the front page of your newspaper, it will end up there at some stage.

although the elders are trying to squirm out of any culpability they are inevitably high jacked by their own arrogant assertions when they start to feel a degree of safety and ease in the questioning.

The WTS will be punished financially. There will be redress. If you listen to the redress speech that Justice McClelland gave months ago, there will be money compensation for victims and that money will be levied against the organizations themselves. This hearing encompasses a large number of organizations and McClelland speaks in the many billions of dollars that ill be needed to address the needs of the victims. He also mentions civil litigation which indicates a supportiive legal system for the victims to seek vindication.

This is a good punishment for an organization that is 100% money oriented. Hit 'em where it hurts the most: the pocketbook. If you throw them in jail, they will paint themselves as heroes and emerge fom their experience as "the new and so much improved" god's mouthpiece. Martyrs - just like fat ass Rutherford did back when he was convicted for treason. Or they will liken it to being jailed back in WW2 - I have already read one comment from an apologist saying just that.

Changes in laws will come - if not from the actual proceedings we are watching, but from the society at large. The rest of the country is not going to stand by and let this travesty continue.

There are world-wide agencies that will be watching this with great interest - don't forget that it was the United Nations (UNICEF)that wrote up DECLARATION OF THE RIGHTS OF THE CHILD . This global and very visible coverage exposes the serious infractions of that document right inside of an organization that wants the world to believe that they are the one true religion.

In one way or another, the punishment will come. There will be retribution in some form and vindication for the victims.

Me neither. That "poor" bastard threw BCG under the bus way back when she was a teenager. Don't forget that she was hung out to dry by him. And...so were all of her sisters - a couple of them were really young.

He emphatically claimed that he believed her and had believed her all along. But he didn't stand up for her - he went along with the men's club.

Yeah, Bowditch couldn't remember the details of anything that could possibly make him or the WTS look bad, But when it came time for him to recount all the wonderful things he did for her when she got married, he could remember every f**ing detail. Bastard.

All he was describing was normal human interaction and calling it "support". At no time did he validate BCG's experience. All the stuff that he was saying he did - he just did those things to try to assauge his guilty conscience. That wedding participation that he so glowingly recounted, was for his healing of his guilt.

Also, completely off-topic, has anyone else noticed the gorgeous blonde lady in steel-grey jacket and blue shirt? I can't take my eye off her at times - partly because she's so beautiful; partly because some of her reactions to the elders' dumb replies have been priceless!

The blond is a Watchtower lawyer. Her reactions need to be evaluated with that knowledge. She does not like what Stewart is saying. She doesn't like that the elders are being forced to expose how ignorant they are.

I have seen her lip curl in disdain at some of the things that the Commission is saying. She is not happy with the process and what is being revealed.

It was a nice touch on the part of the WT legal team - stick some eye candy out there right in the line of everyone's view when the camera is on Stewart (and directly in the middle - right where the Justice can see her).

Oh well, It is about the only defense the WT team has.
