Voluntary Donations - Not Really Mentioned Anymore?
by baldeagle inmy active jw wife has gone to all meetings, assemblies, memorials, and service groups by herself after i faded off the radar about 5 years ago.
i asked her this past saturday as she prepared to join another sister from the kh for the service group regarding, voluntary donations.
i inquired if publishers still mention this to the householder when placing literature.

i jave seen donation requests demonstrated by sisters in the hall i attend several times in the past year....i also asked my husband if we were supposed to ask for donations and he said yes and was upset when i said i was not comfortable doing that...

oh blondie...how insane that all sounds. i did read they used to liken organ transplants to cannibalism and vaccines to the devil...to know my husband is so blind to this stuff amd has put everything into the religion now is just so hard to take. this stuff is nutz.

ding yes!!!! that is also what she kept saying: the light gets brighter!! other religions hide when they are wrong but jws admit it! i told jer they kinda had to with the whole end of world not coming several times. i alsoemtioned organ transplants and vaccines...she said the whole imperfect man line, so i asked her if they were wrong about organs amd vaccines, how do we know that as imperfect men they are npt wrong about other things like blood?

ann...ya it makes no sense and the fact that she couldnt support in bible alone and that the reasoning book even said eating did not help...she kept repeating herself.
so, thanks to jwfacts, i went over the list of acceptable.blood fractions woth her. she agreed with them. i then asked her if she was aware that if someone took each allowed fraction it would equal whole blood? she said that you cant take it all at once? i asked for her referemce and where it was in the bible, it was during this part of the convo that she said the stuff about blood giving the recipient the addictions of the person the blood came from.
just a bizarre response...and then followed with how i would come to understand jehovah hates blood by prayer and study....

sarahsmile: i have been studying with her about 6 months now. my husband is a born in dub...he was inactive when we married. just got back into it this past year, so i started stidying, became an unbaptized publisher, and then woke up. prior to waking up i thought it was christian woth a few unusual doctrines...i didnt know how cultish they were. now i do and i am trying to wake up my husband...and in the process see what i can umcover in these studoes.
my husband so far is not only rejecting all i have saod but is digging deeper into the wt. it is sad. so i am trying to learn the method to dealing with them i guess. i dont know.
oh, she did tell me i was letting unfounded negatibe apostate info squeeze out my relationship with jehovah...so i went and collected all of the old wt pubs going back to the.20's that i purchased.and assured her that my research is quite balanced. she was stumped. i told her i would just like her to help me see wher in the bible all the doctrines and changes i question are...but i did warn her i was not going to be an easy study.

they are set up on the sidewalk, at the edge of a downtown park.
the display was merely rows of a magazine, with the headline *are you stressed?*.

and by following most of her statements with " i just know this is the truth" and "as your relationship for jehov grows so will your umderstanding...dont let this keep you from Gof!"
i reminded her that i feel ok with my relationship with god. i simply trying to understand the biblical basis for the wt teachings and i am finding that i understamd things a bit differently. i reminded her my qiestions are about more than blood...1914, all other failed doomsday prophesies that began in the 1700s, shunning, discourage free thinking, holidays l, the fds,.selective bible use, etc. she said we will focus on blood and asked me to read from reasoning again. she was frazzled, asked if i still wanted to stidy and kept pushing to use bible teach. hmmm. no. so it will be interesting to see if she again tries to dove right in to bible teach again or reasoning...or the actual bible....hmmmm
