I have just had a WHOO HOO moment - a pattern in WT lies TIMING in mags
by hamsterbait inapril 1st, may 15th and sometimes september.. the number of huge doctrinal bombs, or manipulative deceits that have been printed regularly in those editions is incredible.. if i had the cd still i want to target those magazines to see what they put across.. the pattern is so regular it is monotonous.
i only realised this today as i was looking up some older threads, and realised how often these months come up.. of course when they want to slip something past craftily, they prolly use a feb or nov witchtower.. anybody able to confirm??.
do april 1, or may 15 have any special secret "pagan " or other associations??.

I just want this to stop!
by mrsjones5 inas some of you know my husband became ill and we lost our house in indiana.
my parents offered to help and although i really didn't want to do it knowing that my parents have limited resources i really didn't have a choice.
i also wanted to come back to a place that was familiar and where most of my family and friends are.

It's 5:06 pm and my father was a no show...today. Planning a surprise drop in perhaps? I wouldn't doubt it.
Still glad we changed that deadbolt.
Josie
This reminds me of the scene in Home Alone where he is sitting in the kitchen with the fireworks and bb gun waiting...waiting for that inevitable attempt to open the door to invade his space.

Elder giving special talk has lunch with us...shuts me down for asking about society money..lol?
by Witness 007 inwe had a nice lunch with the elder giving the "special talk" but the conversation turned toward the cancelled bookstudy....well i went on to explain how knorr made too many meetings for brothers with families and how good it was to have a free night {even though i go to one meeting a week} then i said: "well, headquarters seems to have a very buisness smart brother working there with the publications now for donations due to tax and selling all those buildings in the heart of new york for millions and moving out....{elder interupts me] "yes, but, jehovah is the one who is buisness smart brother..." i thought wtf!
weird response, like was it too un-spiritual?
did jehoover really "tell" brothers to sell in new york?

How rude of you to start quoting REALITY in the presence of a delusional person. Next thing you know you will be bringing up higher eduction, pedophilia, flip flopping doctrines and kids dying from an unbiblical dogma on blood. STOP THE MADNESS!!
(...and make sure you record it next time :)

Honors classes "puff you up with pride"
by rebel8 inin us public schools, they used to have special classes for gifted students.
all students would be tested for academic achievement and iq, then placed in "gifted classes" with parental permission.. in my kingkongregation, parents would not give permission because it would make the children arrogant and later leave the trooftm.
it would also mean more time studying worldlytm subjects than necessary.. and if the student is female, oh hell no, she wasn't getting into the gifted courses, no way, no how!

Well I know my sister in law "home schooled" her kids and they were all "ahead of the curve" and whatever. So now those brilliant kids are still living at home, not going to college, playing video games and going to meetings and working with their dad in his JW car detailing business. My guess is they will still be living with mommy and daddy until theyre 40.
Yep..being smart and being a JW is a BAD combination according to the Borg. Cant have you goin and THINKIN now yknow.

The WT self-appointment
by isaacaustin inthe wt claims for itself the role of 'steward of jesus earthly affairs'....i was hoping to compile a list of actions/teachings that go beyond the writings of god's words and refute any claim of this self-appointed status.
obviously, they are false prophets but let's go beyond that.
what does the gb do, and communicate thru its wt pubs that show that they can not possibly be god's org.. i would say that their interpretation itself of matt 24;45-47 when read in context shows no such things a fds class thru whom all truth would come, who would in turn provide its followers to edify- who must be dependent on this class.. the 'food provided by the wt has shown to be anything but edifying.. the wt does not allow its members to have a relationship with jesus- one must instead follow and support the gb endeavors to have a standing with god.. what are your thought?.

Once a JW, Always a JW?
by cameo-d inthis was a post on another thread.. it just reeks of a jw stereotyped psyche.. "this religion has the truth.
god picked us special.
jws may know the name, but we own god outright.".

God picked us special...yup yup yup.
Every religion in every country in every building and under every tree where they meet...says EXACTLY the same thing about what they believe.
God for his part probably scratches his "beard" and says WTF have I created down there??

My elder attacked by a demon!!!
by Albert Einstein inlast year we had a "sheperding visit" by two elders (one is aged 45, another one 28).
the older one is ... how to say it politicaly correct .... is not very smart guy.... the older one wanted to stress the importance of being close to jah.
so he he mentioned he is sometimes under demons atacks, they visit his apartment, turn on the light, and the other day ... imagine ... he was lying in bed, and the demon had come and laid on him, so the poor elder couldnt even breathe ... only calling upon jahs name did save him!

That stuff works on a lot of people though...most of the people I had studies with were incredibly uh...DIFFERENT shall we say? And claiming that your religion alone provides protection from all things "ebil" is very sexy to them.
I bet you any money he believes the Smurf story too.

The crap just never ends in my life
by WuzLovesDubs intwo years ago i had to deal with the jws in our family feuding and shunning and acting like 2 year olds when i had my sons graduation party.
my jw sister in law wouldnt come to the party because her mother, my exjw mother in law, was going to be there.
in fact, sister in law took her entire family 3 hours away for the weekend so my mother in law couldnt attempt to see her kids.

Two years ago I had to deal with the JWs in our family feuding and shunning and acting like 2 year olds when I had my sons graduation party. My JW sister in law wouldnt come to the party because her MOTHER, my EXJW mother in law, was going to be there. In fact, sister in law took her entire family 3 hours away for the weekend so my mother in law couldnt attempt to see her kids. Geeez. So NOW my daughter is graduating. Mother in law, who was 2 signatures from divorcing the abusive JW elder husband she has, was coming down to stay with us and help me with the party. My daughter said all she wanted for graduation was to have her Grandma P there and so she was delighted to come!
Meanwhile, my soon to be exhusband, has made a deal with his JW sister and her FIVE kids to move into my (our) house. They had told me to have the party THERE and the entire house is under construction! I was like are you crazy?? And on top of that why in the world would I have my daughters party in a house full of hateful JWs who plan on shunning my mother in law?? And then...
...yesterday...I open my email and theres a letter from my mother in law. Not only did she ONCE AGAIN cancel her divorce from said abusive elder, but is BRINGING HIM to my house! She didnt ask me...he already bought a ticket...and now shes like "well I wont be able to STAY with you but I will 'see if I have time' to come and help you before the party. So sorry..." Then.... she says this...
I had a Revelation at Church Sunday, and felt the Holy Spirit leading me to this decision. I know I will be happier because of it. I could never really talk myself into believing I was doing the right thing. God Help Us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So, we will all be one big happy family! GOD TOLD HER TO GO BACK TO A CULT?? So Im really upset...I dont WANT THIS MAN AT MY HOUSE!! Should I leave this up to my daughter? Should I be up front with her about him being here? I dont WANT THE JWS AT MY HOUSE!! And now the sister in law is going to come to my party with her brood because this JW elder is going to be there whereas before she couldnt be bothered to be at my sons party? I cant stand to see the JWs all huddled up and mocking the rest of us. They are LAUGHING at her. They are condescending and high fiving each other, and emailing and texting each other laughing at my mother in laws wishiwashiness. And now she is trying to convince me that GOD sent her back to this cult?? Ugh...help.

About 1995 or so, I was forced to have to ask my father for mortgage money because my husband had just lost his job. I never asked for my father for ANYTHING up to that point in my life and I was 41 years old. It was only $1500 or so...and I paid him back with interest. But because I asked him, his second wife, my pitbull step mother, has NEVER let me forget about "how they were allllllllways there for me when I needed them" which apparently put me into some servitude for the rest of my life that I didnt know about at the time. Still....15 years later she is telling people "the only time we hear from LD is when she WANTS something!" It has killed my relationship with my father. I will live on the STREET before I will ask them for anything ever again! I wrote a letter to a cousin that I hadnt seen in years, and when stepmother found out I wrote to her, she said "What does SHE want?"
Ugh... even my son's counselor has said that she has had to separate herself from her father and has had to learn to stop him in his tracks when he starts getting abusive and controlling with her. When he starts, she tells him when he is ready to act and speak to her in a civilized manner and respect her as an adult, he can call her again. Then she hangs up.
