... This right already existed at home for the people of Florida (woe to the idiot Mormon or Jehovah's Witness who knocked on anyone's door) but now it's been ... NO TRESPASSING SIGNS
Watch new special about stalkers UPDATED Danny Haszard comment i have been watching this situation develop this could dampen door to door in Florida usa. I have a unique perspective of having lived in Florida 1970-79 i can tell you that most Floridians are non-natives and moved there from the upper states.I was an active dub during those years and have encountered many angry householders who thought that the move would also somehow free them from pesky Jehovah's Witnesses. There is a LOT of anger against JW's in Florida. If somehow door to door recruitment ended (even for safety reasons, cost of skyrocketing fuel etc) They would have to turn to the Information superhighway which is mostly opposition dominated. What do you think?

The individual misunderstands "First Choice" and "Last Resort" Both describe situations where your life and limb are in jeopardy

In most states of the U.S. you must not only retreat from a threat, (e.g. Run) you must exhaust all possible avenues of retreat before you can use deadly force. This is "Last Resort."

The lone exception is your own home. You don't have to retreat from a threat inside your home. If someone with demonstrable hostile intent is breaking into your home, you have the right to plant yourself in front of them, demand that they desist and back up that demand with deadly force. This is "First Choice."

I'm very leary of what Florida has done, because it seems like there is a huge possibility for abuse. But I don't think this puts the lives of Jehovah's Witnesses in jeopardy.

TD very well put-in my own personal case in Maine the Jehovah's Witnesses operatives have been ordered to never enter my propery. If and when they do and there is an "incident" Danny Haszard's motto is:Is it jury proof?

Many householders have 'ordered' JW's not to call on them again,so a jury may see this prior 'warning' that will permit deadly force next time they show up as trespassers.

JW's just shouldn't be going door to door in the first place,it's an ineffective risky recruitment legacy from 'in your face' Rutherford era.
