How do you change things?

I wonder if there is any point in big campaigns to change something in the world that you don't like.

Most ideas that did really change things always started small. Hence the wisdom is found in all the great faiths: "Do not despise the day of small beginnings". Even E=mc^2 and Rutherford splitting the atom went unnoticed for forty years by the rest of the world. Ghandi just sat spinning cotton.

I reckon the only way to change the world is to change myself and do my own small thing. I can be the first to say "NO" or "YES"or to help save one life. Look at how this board is obviously acquiring a power beyond what was first envisaged. Vick Boer, and others, the UN Silent Lambs - it has grown to the stage that the WTS fears us. After Quotes, we are next. Go back to page 3 or 20 on the posts. Enjoy!!

Is this just too "new age" for some??

I was talking to a friend today about the very same thing. It's the 100th monkey theory. One person at a time. Like droplets of water into a bucket,,, they are so small, but when the water reaches a certain level, it is just one drop that causes it to overflow. I agree with you. Acting alone, and perhaps affecting the opinions of one or two people, and they each, in turn, affect one or two people, etc.

So what if major change doesn't happen in my lifetime? I know that I contributed to it, and helped to make the world a better place. That's what is important to moi.

This is not a new age idea, btw, it's been around a long time. Skeptics just like to call it that, as it makes them feel superior.
