After these things I saw, and, look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands

If the crowd is so great that no man is able to count how many there are, why is it that the JW's think that their 6 million or so members are this "great number" since they ARE able to count how many there are? 6 million isn't that many people in the grand scheme of things.

You would also think that they would want to stop keeping track of how many members and all that stuff to fulfil that!

because they don't have any possible way of counting all the dead ones that will be ressurected. (i assume that those ones will be counted as part of the great crowd if they did not have a jdub heavenly hope)

I may be wrong, but isn't this all to happen before "the resurection"?

Yeah, vs. 14 says, "These are the ones that hcome out of the great tribulation," so this must be pre-resurrection.

I expect they would say it's not literal where of course the 144,000 is literal??!!!

If that is so, then it's amazing how quickly they flip from literal to not literal ... really you're dealing with one verse to the next!

Leolaia, why am I not surprised you've written something on this. Next time instead of asking a question, I'll just read through your topic history!

The resurrection had already begun when John had the Revelation vision.

    Luke 23:39-43 (HCSB)

39 Then one of the criminals hanging there began to yell insults at Him: “Aren’t You the Messiah? Save Yourself and us!”

40 But the other answered, rebuking him: “Don’t you even fear God, since you are undergoing the same punishment?

41 We are punished justly, because we’re getting back what we deserve for the things we did, but this man has done nothing wrong.”

42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!”

43 And He said to him, “ I assure you: Today you will be with Me in paradise.”
