Just to let you know that I am now back posting after some extended time away...I also wanted to thank you for all your kind comments and best wishes regarding my marriage, it was quite touching for both Elaine and I to know so many people who we havent had the opportunity of meeting yet cared enough to post their comments.
The wedding day went brilliantly with all family members behaving themselves including my Mother (a devout JW still) who attended even though she was in a room full of people who were either disassociated or disfellowshipped. She left rather early but she still made it and it made my day. The weather initially left a lot to be desired but the sun shone for photographs which we will be collected this week.
There however was a hiccup....when the registrar or whoever it was who led the ceremony asked if anyone knew of any lawful impediment or reason as to why we couldnt get married... someone dared to respond!!!!
Not as bad as it sounds really because the lad that responded was nearly 2 years old and just happened to shout 'Meeeeee' at the wrong moment...everyone was in fits of hysterics. Although I am still rather worried as he has not stopped carrying round a picture of elaine with him wherever he goes...including bed. I think I might have some competition!!!
We eventually relaxed after the ceremony (which for me largely was down to how much single malt I had consumed prior to and during the wedding) and it was great catching up with friends old and new;
I will post again with a selection of photos which will give you an idea of how the day went.
