Letting thier actions give a thorough witness (a co-workers thoughts)....

Late last week I got a chance to give a good "anti-witness". There is a co-worker of mine who was raised around the org but never became one. She recently has studied off and on.

She knows a little about my situation, ie divorce finalized in the beginning of the year, actual process started last june. Ex hubby cheating etc etc. And that I am presently involved with an incredible man who is from Britain but will be moving here for me (yes we have met in person, he spent a month with me, and we have been an item since last November). Anyhow she knows I'm planning on leaving the organization though not all the reasons and knows that I am partially waiting for his return to make sure I have the support I need. She though is absolutely mystified by the shunning process. I was DF'd before but returned mainly for family support because I got none from my ex husband.

Anyhow what she said about the "known" witnesses that work here made me laugh. She said of all the employees she has found that the ones that are witnesses for the most part seem to be the rudest, and most stuck up individuals here. Even to the degree of not acknowledging her unless she talks to them first. We talked about this for maybe an hour or so while working, and I informed her that this is far more common than witnesses like to let on. The double standard is very evident.

So I was wondering how many people have had similar experiences, that for the simple reason of the "non witness" no association thing that that annoys people into not wanting to find out about witness beliefs, I'm sure its very common.

    How "loving".

But.... but..... everyone KNOWS that no one leaves the arena cleaner than Jehovah's Witnesses. And, the hotels and restaurants love it when they come to town because they leave magazines as tips.

ROFL...actually the woman I stayed with for this last DC didn't leave a tip at all and seriously never seen a messier or more taken over hotel room in my life.

To be conceited and despise others is a sign of emotional and spiritual immaturity so they let the world know who they really are, and they no doubt take after their spiritual fathers, the FDS.

My younger brother came back from a convention in london (bows road). After the convention he said they all normally meet up for a good old piss up, but this time nearly all the pubs in the area had signs up saying ' No Jehovahs wittnesses'. Apparently the locals were my than sick of them taking over the pub.

I know some Wits who are extremely good workers and others who just mark time doing the minimum.

I think that if a person tends to be a natural slacker, being a JW just enhances that. They can always find reasons and excuses as to why they shouldn't give their all in a job (ie...end is coming soon, so why bother; worldy bosses don't deserve their best efforts; meetings, study, service is most important so they don't want to do anything extra at their secular job).

On the other hand, I've had some brothers do work for me and it was superior...I know they have a good reputation in the community too.

It was the opposite with an elder who worked with my husband. No one at work knew he was a witness, He never even admitted to having any religious beliefs at all. Even though my husband was disassociated, he never asked him why or tried to convince my husband to come back. When this elder retired a few years back, he and his other coworkers rented a room in the Skydome downtown Toronto and had a big bash... porn movies and all... He even invited his son,, who by the way was no longer a witness after having a lengthy affair with an elder's wife..........I think it was a case of this elder having all his family as Dubs... mother, brothers, sisters and he played the game of being good elder and Dub when needed and at work enjoyed just being regular "worldly" guy...

There are 3 of them I come in contact with at one of my supplier's location. It is so funny to everyone there when they see the reaction of the dubs to an apostate like me. Actually, they help people see just how rude and nasty the cult molds people into being. It's great to see how I am treated just because I worship Jesus instead of the GB. All I can say is, "keep it up WTBTS, you are showing the world how demonised you can be with your JW love".
