WT 8/1/2005- Chart on Kings of Judah & Israel supposedly point to 607BCE

    They are still pushing it. . . . .

    So tell me this?

    Are they shifting dates, or are they just not providing "all" the evidence?

    I can't really see this as trying to prove 607, I think they are only counting backward from that already well established date of 607 to show how scholarly they are by listing the 2 dynasties of Isreal and Judah(if you can call them that)

    I like the footnote at the bottom of the page, "some dates are approximate". Yea like Jerusalem detroyed in 607 bce. Perhaps all dates and predictions should have this clause.

    This is one of the things I did for myself when I first doubted 607. I searched like a crazy person for the date of Saul's kingship. I could find no concensus about his reigning dates. The best guesses seemed to do what the society does - work backward from 607 (or 587 for real people) and determine the kingships that way.

    I think there was a thread on this earlier, basically they are just publishing enough information for the average JW to look and feel secure that they are correct. They won't need to research the issue any further.
