Needle exchange update

  well, for those interested in my situation

  after a very long week of meetings with mayor, council, business association, etc (boy was that ever an eye opener) the needle exchange is going to be moved,,,,,,,,

  and, as i said in first post, it definately was not the place to be and the manager 'snuck' into that location, against regulations laid out for them before hand re locations, etc

  it will be moved to the hospital, where it should have been in the first place, until they find an appropiate place, which we all feel is right where they will be

  was quite a journey and one of great eye opening and knowledge for me

  To be honest with you I do not understand why this was such a big deal in the first place but cudos to you for fighting for what you felt was right for you.

  I cannot understand why some of the posters from your thread on this lambasted you for your wanting the needle exchange taken somewhere else. I "DO" understand that these addicts need a place for this, but not in the neighborhood you explained.

  Would said posters want this in their neighborhood.....next door to their grandmother in the senior apartment...........next door to their house where their little child plays in the yard...........next door to their place of business where their life savings have been invested? I bet they would answer with an emphatic "NO".

  From my viewpoint, it seems that people who feel that entitlements and matters of this nature are necessary, think it should take place at someone elses expense. But if the dirt was dumped in their own neighborhood, the bitching and moaning would be very loud. I wonder how many of the ones against you are business or property owners?
