I'm down in SC and my tranmission quit working. I was going down the interstate 85 and turned off 77 and when I slowed down it felt like I put my brakes on.. I had to pull over to the side of the road, then it started working again. I finally made it to my daughters house, about 50 miles further down the road. Now I had to rent a car to get back home and leave mine there to get it fixed. First time in over 50 years that I had car trouble on a trip. It's going to cost me about $1500.00 before I get it back.

KLS, thanks, I guess it could have been worse. It may not cost as much as I estimated, that was the most it would cost by the transmission machanic's estimate, but I know he will charge the most he can because I'm from out of town. I rented a car for a week and that cost $279.00 bucks with insurance.
