Has anyone read it? Or any thought on his concepts here?
The basic thought is that fear [a negative driving force] will motivate us from the outside, but it is better to turn to positive inward drives to get life fulfillment.
His thought is that 'fear of being insignificant' is the primary drive in society [primarily Western society I think].
I could not help but see all the connections to jdub thinking while reading it. Only have read about half, but found it very positive and thoughtful perspective.
Interesting this guy is a prominent Rabbi in Brooklyn area and he hits many of the bottons that drive witness culture, although he has not mentioned them so far in the book.
