Here's a song I wrote a few years back for a canary I met in a petshop who really seemed to want me to take him home but I didn't have the $... Not sure why I'm posting it here except maybe others have experienced these feelings at one time or another...

It made me cry because I recently lost my little yellow parakeet Scooter. I'm going to print your song out as a reminder of Scooter. This part especially fits Scooter right down to her final escape.....

Awww I can't believe losing a pet bird can make me cry so much, I didn't realize how attached to her I had become.

Yeah it made me think of two birds I have lost recently

Mr Earl.....a cockatiel flew off and could not catch him

and Rumps......my little green rump parrotlet. I held her for hours while she was dieing.

I always fantasized about having birds in paradise flying round free and visiting my home. silly me

oh, Kate and Purplesofa,

I am so sorry for your losses. Makes me sad. I held my dog, Jack, while he died a few years ago and it still makes me break down in tears to think or talk about it.

I know part of what you're going through. I lost my bird (Mexican Red Head) named Cheeko last part of January. I was hurting so bad that I created a discussion forum to help others with their losses. You don't realize how much these wonderful creatures can intertwine in your heart until you've owned one.
