have you ever gone to the public talk when first coming in, heard a talk from the platform and said to yourself, " Glory to God this must be the truth " because what they were talking about had some type of direct relevance to your life? Oh, I must have been the only one, if not what was that mystical connection it seemed the WTBTS had when new ones would come in from out of the world and suddenly see the light, even though it was more like a glow stick than a searchlight.

I never had any type of enlightening expereince when I first started or ever actual while a JW.
I was just searching and meet a JW and started going to meetings and the next thing I know is they are the only religion that has the truth. I didn't have it proven logically I just let the thought in my head when listening to their indoctrination talks. Man I didn't even see it comming so sneaky.

You just reminded me of my late grandmother. Whenever she would talk to strangers she would be like, "when I first heard this, I knew it was the truth..." I always wanted to ask her how she knew, but (1) she would have probably given me a half-ass answer or (2) she would have slapped me into next Thursday night ('s meeting). And I'm pretty sure that the other people she was telling this to would have wanted to ask the same thing--but she was a big woman, and she would have hurt them or something. bad.
