Unbelievable! The day before yesterday, it was in the mid-80's.

This morning we awoke to a gorgeous White Christmas! Imagine that in Port Isabel, just a short causeway from South Padre Island. My wife called called her JW sister in Brownsville at 5:00 a.m. and told here to get her grandaughter up quickly to see it.

The last measurable amount of snow in the Rio Grande Valley fell on Valentine?s Day, 1895, when 5 to 6 inches fell in Brownsville.

Hopefully you received enough snow so the kids can throw snow balls at each other. I got up at 5:30 AM yesterday (Friday) morning and my indoor outdoor themometer read -0.2 degrees F. We would be glad to trade places with you folks. Bug

My brother just called from Corpus Christi and mentioned that they had about 4 inches of snow. All the kids were using laundry hampers, cardboard boxes and the like to go tobogganning. That must have been so much fun for these kids. Some have probably never seen snow.
