I'm hearing a few rumblings about the seasonal timing of shephering calls from the elders.
I suppose if you suspected that someone was trying to do a slow fade it would be a canny move to pay them a visit around Christmas time. Why, you probably wouldn't even have to knock at the door to know if they were celebrating Christmas or not!
A lit-up tree in the front room..
Smells of mince pies wafting along the street..
Maybe even a personal call on the day itself!
You can just see them chuckling their merry way to the DF'ing committee armed with the knowledge that Bro Weakperson IS (Gasp!) Celebrating Christmas!
I suppose it'll make there job very easy, they won't even have to call for evidence if they see the decorations round the house they'll be able to df just on that. CAn't you just feel the love?
The elders calling on people reminded me of a story I was told the other week. Some one I know was deskinning an animal ready to cook for dinner when there was a knock on the door. He noticed it was Jehovahs witnesses so he took his top off, undid his ponytail so his long hair was hanging down, used some of the animal blood to draw an upside down pentagram on his chest, and answered the door with the carving knife in his hand. Apparently they've never been back since..........
