I really scored some great bargains today. Jackets for the grandkids at 50%. I saved $100 there.

I got 12 dress socks for my husband at 50% so that was a savings of $28.

We saved 76 dollars on a rollaround tool chest!

Then I got my husband a new chainsaw for 50% at a savings of $79.

    WOW!

Around here, they are selling winter jackets, parkas really, for 20 bucks. Last yr they were 3 or 4 times that much. I bought two.

We had a ball at the Mall!

The lines were long, but we were able to find a few short lines in secluded areas of the stores. They definitely needed more checkers at most of the stores we went to.

    But it was fun.

You folks are brave !! I used to go out on the day after Thanksgiving every year. Now I don't have enough patience for it.

A cute story though- My daughter had gone out on Wednesday night and found a Wisconsin Badgers hooded sweatshirt and t-shirt sold as a set for a very low price. Very nice and good quality too. So I was teasing her that I was jealous and she felt bad that she didn't get me the same set. So that store opened at 5:30 a.m.yesterday and my daughter ( who is not a morning person) was there in line at 5:00 to get me that set. She ROCKS !!

    Great buys Swan !!

What about deals at chain stores which might be available in our areas, anyone come across any? For that matter anything on the web, I'd be interested in unique gift ideas too. Reminds me of that one guy in the movie Airplane: "There's a sale at Macy's!!"

I have never understood how buying stuff can result in "saving" money. Its kind of like when my sister says she "won" at the casino.

I didnt buy anything yesterday, guess I didn't save any money.

Well...........let's say you were planning to buy an item that was $100. Something you needed, or wanted to give as a gift. You were definitely going to buy it and spend $100.

The store is advertising a one day only sale, for 50% off that item. If you shop between the hours of 6 and 11AM, you will get an additional 10% off.

That is saving money. The extra 10% is a little more than free sales tax.

A good deal, in my book.
