Of course the king is Louie Louie,

but last night driving home and Paul Simon's Kodachrome was playing. I'm singing along and thinking "This song is stupid and doesn't make sense..." as I continue to sing along

After all who would take someone's camera film from their son? What was he filming that distrubed the mother? Was he filming the mother? (the postman always rings twice?)

What songs have you noticed that make no sense - yet you still sing along?

"Dear Shulamite Maiden" and "Keep your eyes on the Prize" come to mind.

Speaking of that fat ass, that song of his "Objects in the Rear Veiw Mirror" is another one that makes no sense.

"Blinded by the light. Wrapped up like a douche, another runner in the night." hehheh.. that's what I always *thought* it said. Actually it's "wrapped up like a deuce." I have no idea who sings this song, or even what it's called. But it was confusing for a long time!

"Blinded By The Light" was sung by Manfred Mann, and written by a little known entertainer name Bruce Springsteen.

This can be found on Bruce Springsteen's album "Greetings from Asbury Park, New Jersey". The lyrics, as printed on the album cover, are "cut loose like a deuce..."

A good friend of mine Lynn Easton was the drummer on that song with the Kingsmen. They were in their teens when they recorded it here in Portland, Oregon. Richie, the singer, had just had his braces tightened the day before and his mouth hurt.

I've seen Lynn's gold record on the wall, and he still has the original drum set. He also has drums of all kinds including a native american ceremonial drum. He's a great guy and a real character! His son and family are good eggs, too.

The Kingsmen had a lawsuit for copyright infringement against the producers (etc.) of Animal House because they used the song without any permission. The Kingsmen won.

Sad, but "Richie" passed away in Seattle about a year ago from cancer. He happened to have been a good friend of a really close friend of mine up there. Funny how circles interconnect.

    Hugs and tunes

PS We all live in a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine, a yellow submarine ..... I just had to get that tune into your heads
