Was speaking to my Karate teacher last week and we were talking about the different tales of "Giants", "Nephilim", "Annunaki" and he mentioned Zecharia Sitchin and his books, then proceeded at this week's class to lend me 'The Wars Of Gods and Men.' First scan of the book, and boy is this way out... Anybody here read any of his works? Thoughts about his work?

I have that book. It's entertaining poppycock. He depends a lot on his own idiosyncratic translations of ancient Sumerian, Akkadian, Egyptian, and biblical texts which are linguistically absurd. It is also logically circular. But, considering how imaginative the writer is, is a damn interesting read.

He may be correct about there being another planet in our system. But, his books are totally bogus, he's a psuedo scholar. His writing catches the imagination. He has identified and tapped into a fair sized market. It's too bad the professional debunkers haven't cut his tome up in little peices, exposing it for the fiction it is.

after reading just a few paragraphs of Genesis revisited I could see how he was desperately trying to shoe horn his fantasies into the bible story instead of using the bible to support his thesis....

secondly I went to some of his supposed sources and for the life of my could not conceive of any race of mankind chroniciling science or science fiction stories in the metaphors of sex.... how this guy reads sumerian porn and comes up with planets and aliens mystifiies me.
