Sexual abuse and exploitation of believers by their spiritual leaders is an unfortunate fact that can be found in all sects and denominations of all the religions in the world. The Linkup, the largest and most prominent victims’ and survivors’ advocacy group in North America, is dedicated to the fight for justice, prevention and the healing of victims. We track cases around the world, publishing up to date summaries and special in-depth articles in our newsletter, the Missing Link.

In the Missing Link Online, we will share some of these stories with you:

Clergy Crimes — Summaries of published cases from April 1997 - September 2000, state by state and internationally.
Archives — Collection of past articles, including a page on the Rudy Kos case, and several articles on ongoing scandals. Other spotlight articles discuss the situations in other nations and faiths.
Most significant are very revealing "smoking gun" documents, such as the so-called Doyle/Mouton Report , the deposition by former-Archbishop Robert Sanchez, and more.
Religious Life Without Integrity — An important examination of clergy abuse by priests and professed religious within the Roman Catholic Church.
Links — To other sites and groups concerned with these issues.

FOCUS on Children — A new educational program.
Recovery — Article on Choosing a Therapist and a proposed 12-Step meeting format.
A Word of CautionVictims, survivors and others may find some of the stories and the issues raised in the Clergy Crimes and Archive sections triggering, offensive, or otherwise disturbing. Please take care when reading. We strongly suggest that all victims and survivors, particularly in the early stages of recovery, avail themselves of whatever competent, compassionate therapeutic assistance and support from spouses, family members, friends, and other survivors they can get.
    Membership
Membership in the Linkup, a non-profit corporation, is $35/year, and includes a subscription to the Missing Link, with its in-depth look at the issues and updates of current cases. Please send name, address, and check or money order to the National Office listed below.

    Spread the Word
Information about cases of alleged clerical abuse is often relegated to the back pages of local newspapers and rarely does a case make it out of its immediate area. We are constantly on the lookout for new developments and depend largely on the efforts of our members and friends to keep us informed. Please send us your clippings!
