. . . in 1931, by resolution adopted at a convention in Columbus, Ohio, and at 50 extension conventions worldwide thereafter, the name Jehovah?s Witnesses was embraced, setting these Christians apart from all the sects of Christendom and emphasizing their God-given work.

in July of 1931 the designation "Jehovah?s witnesses" burst forth upon the world, when, formally and by resolution, thousands of those belonging to "this fold" of the Fine Shepherd adopted this Scriptural designation for God?s dedicated, baptized people. (Isa. 43:10) That example, set at the Columbus (Ohio) convention, was followed by the congregations of those of "this fold" around the globe.

In the meanwhile, in the year 1925 it began to be appreciated by these Christian Bible students that the vindication of God?s name Jehovah by means of his newborn Messianic kingdom was God?s leading purpose. In fact, from 1922 onward reference was repeatedly made to Isaiah 43:10-12 to prove that they must be witnesses of the Lord God during the remainder of their days on earth. The work of bearing witness to his name became more dominant among them. This reached a grand climax in the year 1931, when, at the international convention in Columbus, Ohio, these much-maligned Bible students adopted a resolution by which they embraced the name suggested by Isaiah 43:10-12 (AS), namely, "Jehovah?s witnesses."

OK, how about we all converge on the same spot on the next anniversary of that convention to formally de-embrace the name "Jehovah's Witnesses" and denounce the WTBTS.

Littlefoot can be the keynote speaker and Valis can do the dunking in the un-baptismal pool (filled with german imported beer). The annual apostate report will read; "1,000,000 un-baptized as Jehovah's Witnesses in one day . . . apostates are-a-buzz!"

We can even script a drama depicting how the prophesies of the WTBTS have never come true (Englishman can portray Russell and Simon can play Rutherford), and how the rules and edicts of the WTBTS destroy and devide families unduly, and how the WTBTS covers up the crimes of child molestors. We can also do a little skit about the WTBTS joining the UN as an NGO.

    Not a bad idea!

However, it might be a better idea to have it in 2011 - making it a comfortable "round figure" anniversary. It'd give plenty of time to get a real event happening AND, it will be the longest length of time that the 'Tower could stretch a "generation" to. Perhaps a catchy title like "Millions Then Living Are Now Dead"?

"Millions Then Living Are Now Dead"?

LOL, I love this idea! Can I be in the drama?

Whew, I'm so glad that we all lived through the great tribulation in 1975!

Yes, Columbus Ohio continues to be a hotbed of fulfilled Bible prophecy. Check out this recent fulfillment of the Revelation trumpet blasts at a recent football game at Ohio Stadium:

Great idea! OK, Steph, you get to get to be program coordinator.
