Vacation time, even for the JW's

I remember going to the meetings in the summer time years ago, and the attendance was really low, especially this time of year. Usually, right after the district assembly in July, many went on vacations for a few weeks, and the hall was practically empty.

Being inactive and missing many meetings, I loved to show up at a meeting when the hall was practically empty. I loved to rub it in and tell them, gee there's not many people....

Remember, you were supposed to go to meetings while on holidays. So there is no dammed excuse for you, you pagan.

I heard stories of people who used to go to one congregation in Hawaii all the time. It was a 'cold' congregation, because they were so sick of seeing visitors there. Or so the story goes.

well, the dubs need a vacation. After all the burdens of the continual grind and "do more, do more" lifestyle, who'd blame them for wanting a break?

The local Kingdom Hall could have a "Vacation Bible School" for adults and kids.. hehehh... then there'd be no *reason* to go away for vacation! Wouldn't be just like them to come up with something like that?

JH, I used to enjoy rubbing it in too when the hall was nearly empty around vacation time. Or if I found out an elder was going on vacation I would make it a point to remind him that this was NOT a vacation from the truth?, and that he and his family should be going to meetings and out in service while on vacation.
