Religious Organizations are a Farce

From what I have observed, religions are just a social, made up group of some sincere, some hypocritical, some power control freaks, money grabbers, some fearful of hell-fire,and some family control people.

My children go to churches and and I have been with them and I see the real church. I don't like them at all.

Sometimes it fills a need for the people to feel accepted by God and to dispell fear of death but as far as it being the will of the creator, I just can't see it being God's way of directing mankind.

I say to hell with them all, I can relate to God better in my back yard.

Then there are people of a spiritual persuasion, who enjoy a communal act of worship...

I don't recall the name of the poster, but someone recently posted a quote:

Religion is for those who are afraid to go to hell... Spirituality is for those who have already been there.

I understand what you are saying. It seems all organized religion wants to do is put fear into you and take your money. The way they misrepresent God is a crime. They say that God is all loving and all forgiving, but then turn around and say that he will destroy you at Armageddon, or send you to Hell, or whatever if you don't do "his will". But, "his will" is often just man made rules and policies.

Yes. Nature is for those more advanced. The group can be comforting for the body. The group thing is like grade school; playing it safe, slowly learning, but limiting. I suppose that some, like lt, go for the ambiance, without taking it very seriously, even though they may be more advanced.

I would guess most of you have limited your religious exposure to Christian churches.. Certainly there are a lot of charlatans and groups caught up into "systems" that have institutional methods that are antithetical to personal growth and responsibiltiy. That is not the case for all religious organizations, however.

I can just give my opinion for the ones I have had experience with, naturally I can't speak for God like most religious organizations do.
