I wanted to have something deep, meaningful, and insightful to say.

I had hoped to have some words of wisdom to share with you, my online friends.

But as I pass this milestone, I find I am at a loss for words.

This discussion board has introduced me to people that I would have never met otherwise; a community of survivors all sharing a common bond. Like Vietnam veterans, who despise their wartime experience but love their comrades, we share a common experience that gives us shared memories of both captivity and emancipation.

The Internet has made mundane what was, until recently, impossible. Hundreds, no.... thousands of people communicating, instantly, their thoughts, ideas, feelings, news, plans, joys, sorrows, loves, heartaches.

The High Control perpetrated by Watchtowerism thrives on ignorance. Information is the poison that can stop this blight. Intelligence is the weapon that can slay this pathetic, weak, aging and addle-minded dragon. Knowledge is the key to open the door to freedom from its oppressive rule. So this discussion forum is an instrumental part in the "War On Ignorance".

But it is more than that. It allows people to begin to heal, to learn how to live after a lifetime of confinement, abuse, and drudgery.

Many of the discussion threads have incited me to add items to my Watchtower Quotes website; items and topics I would never have added otherwise. In this small way, I have tried to capture the insight of the truly gifted researchers that post here.

There are so many people to thank. I want to thank you all by name, but I know if I start that impossible task I will likely forget someone special and I don't want to leave anyone out. Furthermore, in come cases, my thanks would never reach the person. As the song says**, "So many people have come and gone. Thier faces fade as the years go by." Some of the people I want to thank have left this board and moved ahead with their new, improved, post-Watchtower life. It has been sad to see them go, but I applaud them for their success, and hope one day to join them.

Therefore, I will limit my gratitude to just one. Simon, I thank you. You created this place, you funded its startup, you pay the ongoing expenses, you patch and upgrade the application, and you are ultimately the one who reminds us the rules of civility that sometimes are forgotten when people disagree and nerves get raw. In short, you are chief, cook, and bottle-washer. And you somehow manage to have a job in the real world too. Without your ongoing efforts, this place would disappear. Once again, I thank you.
