Gat the itch and rattled off a few poems and just thought I'd share.

    Enjoy

    Thunder

    Slate gray breezes

    Flapping foliage

    Waves in the grass

May may not be the gentlest of months

    And June will be hot.

Fixated on the frost she pouts

The brightness below belies its presence

What to do, what to do

Accept or deny, accentuate or conceal

In twists and waves it cascades over shoulders and down her back

He sees not what troubles her

He is blinded by the fire below the frost.

    The light of truth

    Throws shadows of intent

    Past deeds been done

    For reasons unclear

    The Big Picture yet unfinished

    As painters come and go

    Leaving brush strokes melded

    Some conservative, short, precise

    Some liberal, loose, sweeping

    The masterpiece in progress

    The land of the free

    The home of the brave

    America the beautiful.

    Crimson adultery

    Alike & Different

    Full-bodied & Biting

    Smooth & Mellow

    Shiraz & Merlot

I could learn to like this.

    Pursed lips she reprimands him

?I don?t wanna go to bed?

    Dark eyes beckon a reprieve

Even as eye lids flutter exhausted

She does not get her way

    She still loves her Grampy

    A tree of purple blaze

But came one spring a wicked gale

    That other trees did raze

That brutal wind proved much too strong

    The tree trunk?s innards shattered

Its life did seep from fractured bark

Its leaves hung torn and tattered

Despite best efforts done in vain

The tree was brought to naught

Left only there were sucker limbs

    Protruding from its stalk

    Bent and braided into one

    Tied upright they grew

Now again we have that purple blaze

    Our lost tree born anew.

Sipping his Mocha Latte by the window of the Perfect Cup

Cherub faced boy stares into his furrowed face

Doing his best to incite a smile

Tiny feet propelling him in circles around the coffee house

As the level in his cup drops

The lines in his face soften

As the cherub bounces gleefully behind couch and chair, hide and seek

Despite himself he cannot help but smile

Whether the sweetness of cherub or beverage one cannot be sure

But the grin on his face takes years off his look.

This was my favourite. I like the turn of the phrase: "The brightness below belies its presence". I like the way that rolls out.

It could be the artist in me. I use both broad and conservative in the same painting, tightening up in the expression of a face, sweeping away to give the whole picture flow. I like the idea of many generations of people adding to the painting. It is like the picture of civilization, which has a life of it's own now, one generation investing it's creativity for the next to build on. If there are many artists contributing to the big picture, could there also be a Grand Artist conducting the flow?
