Call centre callers ... nice experience

You've had them ... calls from companies trying to sell you something. I just had a call from a credit card company (one we've just paid off) offering us a 1.5% interest rate for balance transfers.

Normally, I hate them but this one was different. I mentioned that we didn't have any balances to transfer 'cause we'd just managed to pay everything off and were now concentrating on saving to emigrate.

"Oh, where too?" she asked. "Canada" I said.

Well, it turns out that she used to live there ... in fact, where we want to go to! We ended up having a good long chat about all the places, the way of life, her family, my family. Really nice.

So nice to have a real person and not just someone just trying to make a quota.

I'm going to write to the company to say how nice it is being able to talk to someone *real* and that next time we need to borrow some money we will definitely use them !

If possible, mention the specific caller's name, or some other identification. She should get a commendation.

or get in trouble. They pay them to make sales, not friends :)

I think that's called the "Reach under the table and jerk off the customer until he buys something" strategy.

I don?t trust telemarketers anymore than I?m able to reach through the phone and strangle them.

Elsewhere, I am with ya! Nice as they can be if they are "selling"...But mean as snakes if you are late on a payment, or call in a complaint!

I think it is very important to give positive feed back. Too many places are run by accountants looking for short term results and the bottom dollar. Let them know the human touch is better for the company image.
