Anyone else watch the taboo series on national Geographic channel? I thought the one on tattoos was awesome...and the food one was a bit freaky, but still fun to watch. So any other taboo watchewrs out there?

I love that channel Val, and I love the taboo series. I have caught just a few glimpes of a few shows, I keep forgetting when it comes on.

The last one I saw was about the women who were those bands on their necks. Very uncomfortable it seems........but those women probably say the same thing about women who wear bras. I have to agree that is not very comfortable either.

Yeah, I have seen that show a few times, watched most of the tattoo one (I believe the presenter was looking for someone with a special tattoo?). The way they gave tattoos there though... OUCH.. They just split a bone at the edges, so there are loads of sharp points, dip it in ink, and go to work... I know it doesnt sound too different from the way we do it, but it looked way more painful.

Also caught that show where a family goes to somewhere like Botswana and have to live there for a week. Was good first few times, but it got boring as every show follows the same lines. Family gets there, they think it is cool on the first day. Second day they are still smiling somewhat. Third day, one of them has to kill an animal. Day four, one of the kids gets sick and they are all bickering. Last day, they have a party, cry, then leave.

Reality shows are starting to suck

I love Animal Panet too. I especially love the show, Animal Cops. I often get really sad when I see the animals in such bad shape, but it is a good thing they have the humane society to look out for them.

The worst case of animal cruelty I have seen on the show was the one where the man had 7 or so horses in a worn down barn. The horses were almost starved to death. If they would have went a day or two longer they would have died. One did died after being rescued , even after the team of vets and others tried so hard to get him better. The horses had been so starved , they were nothing but skin and bones. They ate the wood off their barn doors. They were so weak they couldnt even walk. The doctors had a hard time keeping some of the horses on their feet,,,,,,,,,if they were to lie down, they wouldnt be strong enough to ever get up and would for sure die.

The good thing I like about this show, is you find out what happens to the animals. You get to watch the progress , of before , after, finding the animal a new home and how well they do afterwards.

I love all those other channels as well, esp. the history channel, A & E, Discovery
