As a witness growing up, baseball was big in our congregation. I had a close group of friends, and we were all BIG Atlanta Braves fans. For a couple years in the 90's that's all we did. I remember if they were behind in a game we'd all put our baseball caps on sideways like a shark's fin and wear the "rally" cap. This was supposed to give added energy to the team to come back from behind and win the game.
I had a pioneer partner who had been in the "ministry" full time for many years. She had this old worn out bookbag. When I suggested one time getting a new one, so as not to make a bad impression; she told me that it was the same bookbag she had started out with, and one time she changed but wasnt as successful as before.
