To a degree, yes.
Any falsehood attaches a measure of slavery to its believer.

If Jesus existed, he knew better than to attribute Truth to an idea, a tiny anthropomorphic tribal deity. The Truth, will set us free, simply because our true/real/actual-identity is Freedom itself. Not "freedom" in the way the mind interprets it, as in a tiny entity "me" free to do what it wants. But rather freedom as in no walls or boundaries defining what I really am. All that consciousness embraces is -- self. This, by the way, is true love.

I can honestly say I feel no anger, it is more like a tremendeous burden has been lifted from my heart and I want to kiss everything in sight.(Metaphorically speaking).
To no longer beleive in the Cruel jehovah is so refressing, the truth really will set you free!!!! no not totally,Now I know that many of our concepts enslave us,
The Jehovah myth is just one of the many concepts that enslave us.
Even so,,, it is nice to be set free,, while perhaps not completely from the myth,,, but free enough to feel great gladness.
What will come with other freedoms???

Frankie, Notice how when you clearly saw that the conceptualization we label "Jehovah" was false, you experienced a sense of freedom. Could it be that the Freedom was always here and it is just ideas and beliefs which hide it? Letting go of the concept of a wrathful god did not give you anything you did not already have. This is why it is so important to seek and investigate diligently within ourselves, and clearly see the price of unquestioned beliefs. In seeing -- the chains are broken. j

JT,
I see the need to question everything.
I see the jehovah myth as a metaphorical tool man's consciousness was using to try and explain the unexplainable it served a tempary purpose to man's growing awareness. This "awareness" will grow as part of evolution, atleast the arrow of evolution to my awareness seems to be pointed in that direction. I see more inward growth as I leave these old myths. Many more myths than I can shake a stick at, but maybe some day it will sneak up from behind, and all the myths will be gone. Maybe that's the next level.
The more we question the more we, can learn or should I say unlearn.
Well this jehovah myth was a big hurtle for me, I'm glad I had Thor kick the snot out of him.OBTW, I don't see the ego as needing destruction, it just needs to be put in it's place perhaps, and use it as a tool as well. Or maybe I'm just trying to calm down my ego LOL??
