After several years of trying to get my mother to get an e-mail account, I may have finally succeeded. She always backed off on the subject because "The Society" (bleh) has pronounced the internet as EVIL . I took the liberty to set up a free Yahoo account for her and I sent her explicit instructions on how to check her e-mail with minimal exposure to the EVIL internet. She seems to be excited about it and I hope we can communicate "guilt free" through e-mail. Wish me luck!

my mom was like that in the past too... Now she uses her email constantly..
she just won't write to me very much.. since she doesn't approve of me not being a JW..
