What if every Jehovah's Witness could apply this scripture when pondering questions?

    1st Thessalonians 5:21

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

    Or Acts 17:11

Acts 17:11 :: New International Version (NIV)
    Acts 17
11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

Acts 17:11 :: New American Standard Bible (NASB)
    Acts 17
11 Now these were more noble-minded than those in (1) Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

Acts 17:11 :: The Message (MSG)
    Acts 17
11 They were treated a lot better there than in Thessalonica. The Jews received Paul's message with enthusiasm and met with him daily, examining the Scriptures to see if they supported what he said.

Acts 17:11 :: New Living Translation (NLT)
    Acts 17
11 And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul's message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to check up on Paul and Silas, to see if they were really teaching the truth.

We are taught to apply those scriptures to only to what other people say while accepting without question what our own leaders teach.

    Nice little arrangement, eh?

NWT "...hold fast to what is fine."

Which means we must be discriminating in what we accept as 'fine.' It was all right to scrutinize scriptures and teachings when we where studying, but after deciding to worship Jehovah we are now told 'not to question' but 'wait on Jehovah'...How nice for the GB! Or as Frannie Banannie calls them the 'Governing Haughty!' And she has a point, like the Pharisees of Jesus's time...anyone who speaks openly about their error is publicly defamed and executed!
