" What can the leadership at Watchtower do to turn things around ? "

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. They've lied to all 8 million or so JW members for 138 years now that they'll allegedly " live forever " which is false and a rip off and a scam. The WT powers that be at the top seem more interested in taking the money and running away with it by demanding ownership of the kingdom halls and selling them off ! With evil, selfish, money grubbing , corrupt corporate WT leaders leading this organization- the only thing WT leaders are interested in is turning " around " the organization to suit there own financial interests. They don't give a damn about throwing 8 million JW's under the bus in any way, shape, or form. WT leaders are narcissistic , sociopath's and have no ethics whatsoever. It's all about the money. Peace out, Mr. Flipper

Good point, Flipper. The Mayan calendar expired and there was no apocalypse. So too, the Watchtower calendar has run out because of the grand promises made. They will not turn that around, they will just take all the money they possibly can before it all topples over.

I'm debating with a veteran JW regarding asking for money:

    1. Do you deny that your organization appeals to its membership for money just like the churches of Christendom?

    Nothing to deny....

How Is Our Worldwide Work Financed?

Our organization publishes and distributes hundreds of millions of Bibles and other publications every year without charge. We build and maintain Kingdom Halls and branch offices. We support thousands of Bethelites and missionaries, and we provide relief aid in times of disaster. So you may wonder, ‘How is all of this financed?’

We do not tithe, charge dues, or take up collections. Although the costs of supporting our evangelizing work are high, we do not solicit money. Over a century ago, the second issue of the Watchtower magazine stated that we believe we have Jehovah as our backer and that we “will never beg nor petition men for support”—and we never have!—Matthew 10:8.

Our activities are supported by voluntary donations. Many people appreciate our Bible educational work and donate toward it. The Witnesses themselves happily contribute their time, energy, funds, and other resources to the doing of God’s will in all the earth. (1 Chronicles 29:9) At the Kingdom Hall and at our assemblies and conventions, there are contribution boxes where those who wish to make donations may do so. Or donations can be made through our website, jw.org. For the most part, the moneys received come from those of modest means, much like the needy widow Jesus spoke so well of who put two small coins into the temple treasury chest. (Luke 21:1-4) Thus anyone can regularly “set something aside” to give “just as he has resolved in his heart.”—1 Corinthians 16:2; 2 Corinthians 9:7.

We are convinced that Jehovah will continue to move the hearts of those who want to ‘honor him with their valuable things’ in support of the Kingdom work, so that his will may be accomplished.—Proverbs 3:9.

    Where does the money go?

Donations for Local Congregation Expenses are used to care for expenses incurred by the congregation and to return money that the branch office gave it to assist in building or renovating the Kingdom Hall.

Donations for the Worldwide Work are sent to the branch office to care for its expenses, and any surplus is used to care for needs in other lands

donations for local cong expenses are used to care for expenses incurred by the congregation INCLUDING the monthly rent or whatever you want to call the mandatory donation. as for assistance in building, every penny was collected before ground was broken, and every penny over X amount was requested to be donated, and was, at least here. now we can't even save enough money for seats that need replaced as the amount exceeds the operating allowance

there is never any accounting for where the money really goes, just vague references to "good use" you can trust them though

do actual charitable works, help people that need it. quit slamming education and working for a living quit guilt nagging make an actual accounting of monies spent

They've already done it. It is now a social circle that would never have been allowed 15 years ago. Publishers and even pioneers taking pictures and making videos for Facebook and Instagram. Remember when we were counseled for even thinking of social media?

Kids are now regularly up on the platform having a "share" in the midweek meeting.

There is now a welcoming committee at the assemblies resembling most big churches

The R&F don't need any knowledge any more. Just direct interested ones to the website. Less printing means less pressure to keep up with the latest food and gave it realized you don't actually read the mags.

I honestly think this generation of kids coming up will be the staying put, its too easy of a religion because they really aren't teaching doctrine anymore.

Has anybody ever noticed that with the map behind S.Lett they have got the bulk of the population on the wrong side of the Continent where Australia is concerned ?

The bulk of the population is on the Eastern and Southern sides of the Continent and not on the Western side of the Continent that is shown on JW.org

    Just saying.
