They won't use the term "rapture" because it sounds "false religious."
Their latest idea about the GT is that they ( GB and other pesky "professed anointed" who are still alive out the outbreak of the GT) will be transferred to heaven. So.....if that's NOT being raptured...😕
Intrinsically linked to that "idea" is the "overlapping generation" idea. basically, the GB who are alive today expect the END in their lifetime. As a matter of fact, it has been said that if you do not believe the END will come in YOUR lifetime, you have been affected by "Satanic" propaganda.
So what happens during the next decade after Jesus' glorious 100th anniversary? What will Jesus have "evidently" meant as the current GB die off with no sign of the GT or a "rapture"??
Let's say something bad happens, like China invading the U.S., or a HUGE terrorist event. The GB say the GT has started. Or all hell breaks loose and the ORG is exposed in the media, and the GB call it the GT. Well, now they are screwed. Do they run away and hide at Warwick in the bomb shelter?! Do they leak reports to JWs hiding in basements, telling them the GB have been taken up?? LOL!!!!
The whole scheme depends on the end NEVER coming, but being eternally over the next hill, around the next corner. Adventism depends upon the future coming of Christ, and JWism is just a wacky offshoot of Adventism.
So, what could they possibly come up with in the future to placate the sheeple? More mainstreaming after the old guard dies off? Authoritarian regimes don't last. Will they learn a lesson from all their legal troubles and past mistakes? Will they continue the cuddly old Granpa technique, or have the "STFU and be blessed." 2020 Regional Convention??
