    a COURT CASE by jws was dismissed b/c they ruled that abusive/insulting languague was not protected by the constitution.

    Are you referring to Chaplinsky v. New Hampshire, 315 U.S. 568 (1942) ???

    I call this the "fighting words" case. A JW had been advised by a Marshall to get off the streets because there was a mob in a surly mood. The Marshall was returning to see what was going on and the JW called the Marshall a "G-D- racketeer". The Marshall took him into custody.

    This wasn't a case of the JW being so very innocent. He was provocative. But the "Fighting Words doctrine" did a couple of reversals along the way. I think JW's got lucky on this one. More details here:
