Most of us are aware the WT original purchase of Brooklyn properties were the "Plymouth Bethel" and Henry Ward Beecher's residence. I was just sitting here and it occurred to me these should be recognized as historical sites. Beecher's role in American history surrounding the civil war is certainly worthy of recognition and remembrance. Why wan't there some effort to put up a plaque or something?

If I remember correctly, 124 Columbia Heights was his residence. His church, which Russell used as his tabernacle, was a block or two away. I think the WT sold that off not long after Russell died. I seem to remember a historical plaque at the site of the tabernacle, but that was back in the '70s or '80s when I was there.
