Me too ,she was abusive and controlling, looking back it began when we started going out together but being brought up a jw you were never made aware of the red flags in relationships.
The divorce process was hellish she made it as difficult as possible, she was still a jw during the divorce and to make things even worse she alienated my kids I have not seen then in over 6 years. What a Christian personality.
One positive thing it educated me regarding physiological manipulation and coercive control and I saw these tactics being used by religions to control their followers, so I escaped both .

The pond keeps getting smaller. There are plenty of fish in other ponds though.

Yup. Born in and raised a JW. Married at 28 and filed for divorce 14 years later. She was violet, controlling, lieing, cheating, narcissistic monster. Called police on her multiple times. Not only is the JW system messed up (you shouldn't called the police, you're bringing reproach on God's name and the congregation), but I couldn't even get a personal protection order against her AFTER she was convicted of domestic violence.
Side note - 10 years ago this week was my last time in a KH. No fade, no announcement. Left after one meeting and never came back. Filed for divorce a few months later when it hit me that she and the congregation were no help and weren't going to change. A year or so of settling in and clearing my mind. 9 years of great life and being happy, healthy and safe.

WT has influenced their followers that "THE ONLY GOOD HUSBAND OR WIFE is A JW ONE". Therefore, they have encouraged the R&F to mainly marry "in the Lord" and not to look for TRUE COMPATIBILITY, which can also be found OUTSIDE of the organization. I have always SMDH at this. I'm glad that when I became Presently POMO, I was able to meet a wonderful NI-Guy, who treats me with TRUE love and respect without the DRAMA that this cultporation causes!

Totally married wrong, yes, a terribly small pond. Totally incompatible. Both out for almost 20 years now and about to finally get divorced.
