I just watched a very moving and poignant film:

    Voyage of the Damned, 1976

about the 1939 ship voyage of the St Louis which carried 900+ Jewish passengers from Germany to Cuba, were not allowed to disembark, and were eventually taken back to Europe where many of them were eventually sent to the camps and died. It doesn't touch directly on the Bible Students, but I think it gives some context to the political scene of pre-WW2 Europe.

Seldom has a film reached deep inside like this one.

In a way it is a metaphor for the voyage through JW land. Get on board with high hopes based on false promises, despair as things become apparently sour, bargaining, heartbreaking loss, finally you get off free but changed.

The acting and direction was superb too, and the inside view of the working of seagoing ocean liner was interesting.

Yes a very good film. History repeats it self, this time about 90 years ago. I found this movie on you tube by putting in the name of the movie.
