A recent TV Guide magazine commented on Whoopi Goldberg's new show. In it, she had the audacity to light up a cigarette.

She replied that she was amused that NO ONE protested anymore about a black and white married couple prominently

appearing on the show - only protests about her cigarette!

I can remember sitting in an African-American household watching TV during the 70's. One of the kids suddenly

said "Look! Colored people!". Just then a commercial appeared that featured non- white people. You see,

ad agencies, at one time, only used white actors to sell products. Anything else was a novelty.

It created some controversy when Captain Kirk kissed Uhura on Startrek - presenting life 3 CENTURIES in the

    future.

Progress happens. Things do get better. "Worse and worse" is a Watchtower deception.

In California you are not allowed to smoke at the workplace. So Whoopi of course made sure her charactor smoked in the series. She is not allowed to smoke between takes. I saw her complaining about this on Leno one night.

The show stinks worse than her ciggies anyway.

I agree with that. Actually, I didn't even realize it was still on.

She can join the long list of movie stars who were unable to make the transition to weekly sit-com (Geena Davis, Bette Middler)

Last night I watched the movie "Far From Heaven" with Julianne Moore and Dennis Quaid. They portray a wealthy society couple in 1958 whose lives fall apart when the husband admits he is homosexual. The wife finds the only person she can talk to and find friendship with is her black gardner. Ultimately she falls in love with him. It was more horrifying to everyone than the fact that her husband was gay.

Things have definitely gotten better. It was shocking to see how people felt back then.

I loved Whoopi in Corrina, Corrina. Not much anything else though.

You should see the shit fit some people throw in a stage show when characters onstage smoke!
